Any questions? Don't worry, Tom's planning large RDNA 5, PS6, and XBOX follow-up videos - but for now let's just take a beat where we are and discuss what we know now....again, any questions?Feel free to ask anything and everything of Tom (and Dan) about RDNA 5, PS6, and XBOX. We can't promise we'll necessarily spill all the beans on what we know - but maybe we can at least clarify stuff.

You have ~3 hours to submit! (Sorry for the short notice, hectic week for both Tom & Dan)

Magnus will share the gpu die with desktop cards to get a better deal. Considering Radeons less than stellar sales for a couple years now, how much do you think will this actually allow them to lower the Xbox price? Just enough to not be completely pointless or will they actually try to beat Sony on pricing?

Hi Tom and Dan, Given that nVidia is starting to move toward 3GB GDDR7 modules, any word if the future generations of RDNA will be using this as well? If so, does this change projections for how much VRAM an RDNA5 card or unified RAM a future console would have?

Btw, it must have been a hectic "weak" for you guys :) Hope you guys are able to recover!

Have you heard any plans for AM4 10 year celebration? I square everytime someone said AM4 is dead, Lisa Su pull out a new CPU out of her hat lol. Beside that, do you have any info about RDNA 5 dGPU power and clock speed yet? I do hope that this illerration of chipletizing their GPU would be more sucessful this time around, but I do have some reservation if they could pull it off completely (as in at no significant power penalty or high idle power consumption compare to Nvidia counterparts).

I get a bit lost with all the jargon thrown around in a conversational format... Could you lay out some direct comparisons of the expected PS6 vs PS5, Pro, and how that compares to RDNA4 products? I think having it in a concise format all close together will help me and others wrap our heads around it better.

In AMD's quarterly earnings this week, they highlighted for the second quarter in a row that desktop CPUs *and* GPUs were notable contributors to profits, even though Wall St only cares about AI datacenter sales. Last quarter Lisa Su specifically mentioned how a positive RX 9070 launch (relatively low profit) helped them sell attached CPUs (high profit). In other words, launching with good supply and fair pricing helped them make more money vs. the "classic" missed opportunity Radeon launch. Have you seen any more signs of AMD's top leadership sharpening focus on consumer products instead of just datacenter amid Intel's current weakness? P.S. Lisa mistakenly said "9600 XT GPU launch" on the call. Not even the CEO can figure out Radeon branding? 😂

Hey, Tom. Are you looking forward to Battlefield 6? It looks like DICE is committed to returning the franchise to its roots of BF3 and BF4, of which I am a massive fan. I watched the gameplay reveal event last week and it looked very promising. However, given the series' track record of god awful launches, I'm a bit hesitant. Will you be playing the open beta when it goes live this weekend?

Looking at the Magnus plans as you've leaked them, it actually makes sense to me that Microsoft would *want* to use off-the-shelf consumer hardware to streamline and support their "Play Anywhere" plans; when the console, handheld, and home PCs all use the same hardware, "porting" becomes less of a thing than it's been to date - any work you do to optimize for AMD hardware is universal. And, if it's using Zen 6 and RDNA 5, that becomes an additional marketing point for the desktop hardware. Do you agree with this perspective?

Hi Tom and Dan, how big are the odds for Xbox and PS6 launching in different timelines like in the PS360 era? And is the Xbox model for next gen just one Series X successor (+ partner devices like the Ally)?

CompressedAIBlocks

What do you guys want to see outside of the CPU + GPU inside the next gen consoles? RAM amount? Storage amount/interface? Anything sound related?

Mark Smith

Hi Tom, and Dan! Will Sony follow a similar launch cadence in the next generation with a pro version of the PS6 launching towards the middle of the lifecycle? Also, how unlikely will it be for Xbox to release another budget Series S tier console on their newer architecture? Thank you!

I don't understand why MS is even bothering with Magnus, if it's going to be compatible with Steam/Epic PC it needs to be off the shelf PC parts. But since it will be tied to an Xbox generation, it can't exactly be upgradable. And if it supports multiple storefronts, it needs to be sold for profit. So you are basically buying a prebuilt PC that isn't upgradable. Make it make sense T & D.

Will Dan buy new xbox?

BespokeEP

It sort of impossible to make a comparison when RDNA5 and Zen 6 aren't even out, so the actual performance of the hardware is simply theoretical. Also the most important aspect about the console aren't even known yet/Tom hasn't leaked them. RAM, Cache sizes, clock speeds, AI/ML capabilities. What PCIe Gen they are using and how many lanes, SSD speed? Cerny secret sauce?

BespokeEP

Hey, maybe they were feeling week after the hectic weak lol 🤣🤓

Now that the Graphics Generation is released, how is the production distribution between 8 & 16 GB models for the 9060XT and 5060 Ti? Are the produced 8 gig models 1/3 of the volume or even lower?

Josh

I would like any updates on the potential RX 9080 XT or whatever it's being called.

Why is Trump mad at the Intel CEO?

Kianoush Khaghany

can't wait for your input in this political arena of Trump vs Lip BuTan, considering that in your last podcast you felt he was moving towards righting the ship from the mess of Pat and the billions squandered

Tom, your leak about Intel replacing the .exe is deeply concerning from a developer’s perspective. How can I possibly guarantee a stable application experience if an external party might cause crashes? This is unacceptable—especially without my consent. Intel is playing with matches, and this is not the direction we should be heading.
