Framework has updated their modular laptop 16 with an rtx 5070 module. Nvidia has done its very best to kill MXM and any modular laptop solutions in the past have died a pretty quick death, supposedly because Nvidia would not work with OEMs. Does this suggest a change in Nvidias attitude regarding this, or did Framework bow to whatever demands Jensen made because there are simply no current AMD laptop gpus they could sell you?

Are you both excited about how developers can utilise newer processors and many cores for enhanced physics, weather and fluid systems, massive worlds and density, smarter AI? I'm thinking of how revolutionary Alien Isolation's AI tech was at the time and how much that added to the immersion and atmosphere of the game, and now they're making a second installment. Are there any particular games you're looking forward to or enjoying that go out of their way to make something groundbreaking?

Hello Tom and Steve, what would you two do with the Ryzen F naming scheme? in many OEM PCs they sell the Ryzen 7 8700f. As consumer one would think it would be faster in gaming then the Ryzen 5 7500f what is in fact not the case. In my Opinion the Naming should be Ryzen 7 8700 gf or similar.

Happy Steve's back on the show again. What I'm wondering is "what's next"? What's the next big thing in gaming tech? Motherboards fixed sound quality 15-ish years ago. SSDs were 10-ish years ago and fixed storage. DDR5 fixed the issues of DDR3/4 5 years ago, X3D fixed issues with data management on AMD CPUs 3 years ago. I'm assuming Intel can fix their issues in the next 3 years but that's not going to be a "big" thing. Is the only thing left on the software side? Do Intel and AMD need to go in and put resources into the engine development to improve the situation? (I'm assuming Nvidia are instead pushing their features instead of improving things for all... ;) )

Not asking a question, just pass along my thanks if you remember. Their reviews and charts are my bible when I have to buy hardware.

Hi Tom and Steve. With AMD having switched up their naming scheme on their current gen GPUs, we have seen them go from RX 580 to RX 5700XT to now, the 9070 XT and each time they do this, they seem to use this as way to obfuscate the increase in price, trying to avoid being compared to the previous gen in value. With them looking to compete in the high end with Nvidia again, what kind of new marketing term do you think they might come up with? Personally I'd like to see the Fury make a comeback. Especially if Nvidia feels threatened and releases a Titan again.

Hi Tom and Steve, with Zen 6 pretty much confirmed to be on AM5 and as Tom recently said, AMD might release Zen 7 on some capacity in AM5 especially if Intel becomes competitive, do you think they will release a new chipset (X970 for AM5) as well? With things like PCIe 5 and USB4 already available on current chipsets, would a new one even be necessary? I guess it could also depend on how soon DDR6 becomes widely available because they probably want DDR6 to be AM6 only. Anyway, love to hear your thoughts on this.

Hi guys, do you think that the recent government investment in intel (and the seemingly consistent access to government support given its position as an American tech company with both a foundry and wide spectrum of offering e.g. CHIPS act) will help the Intel graphics roadmap for consumer/enthusiast systems (e.g. gaming and workstation), or do you think this will just fortify the enterprise side of the company? I imagine that this alone cannot resurrect the Arc dGPU roadmap (sorry for stubbornly keeping that hope alive) but is there even a small hope that Arc will not be scrapped as a result?

Hello Tom and Steve, I have seen a lot of video on Hardware Unboxed where you try to debunk some belief. I was wondering what is most frustrating belief that you have encounter?

Hello Tom and Steve, What do you think about the new DDR RAM format, CAMM? The industry is going in that direction. But, right now, I don't see the upside of CAMM. For me, it take too much space on the board. So we are going to be limited to one module by board, and we be losing the flexibility of the DIMM format and the possibility to have quad channel on future board.

Zen 5 has a good AVX-512 implementation but on Windows it seems almost nothing uses it. A lot of Linux benchmarks are open source and can be compiled to include AVX-512 support and these often show big gains, though Zen 4 also shows big gains over Zen 3. Have you seen any sign of AVX-512 support in Windows applications or benchmarks improving?

Assuming future optimisations to Battlefield 6 don’t significantly change the CPU load, can Nvidia GPUs be seriously recommended to someone who primarily wants to play this game? Conversely, for someone who only intends to use Radeon GPUs, is the 9800X3D overkill except in rare examples like this?

Chris Rijk

For Zen 6 on desktop, AMD will be moving to a 12-core CCD design. For gamers, do you think this is too early, too late or about right? Would it surprise you if a 12-core Zen 6 desktop CPU is slower than a 9800X3D for gaming?

Chris Rijk

Let’s say for the sake of example that Intel’s upcoming Nova Lake CPU is as fast as the fastest Zen 6 desktop in gaming. Do you think that would be enough to win back gamers to Intel?

Hello Tom and Steve, what do you think is the performance targets of the next gen hardware, I would say it’s more improvements on 4k gaming but it seems like there’s so much more they’re going to try and pull off?

I don’t think it’s a very good deal. Nevertheless, it’s mere existence is remarkable.

Hi guys, what benchmarking software would you recommend which will most closely translate into practical performance for windows and Linux? I've been using Geekbench 6 and Geekbench AI on windows, and have not managed to find a useful one on Linux (which is preferred for my uses). I also have used PerformanceTest, MLPerf and specviewperf, but overall am not certain which suite is actually reflective of practical performance in an enthusiast platform. Thanks!

Tom, imagine a gun was up to your head and you had to answer: if the AI market suffers a crash between today and the next generation of gamer graphics cards, how do you think Nvidia would segment their lineup in terms of price? And how would AMD answer? How do you see the market reorganizing itself? I honestly wonder if Nvidia would start to take better care of the gamer market again, or they'd just try to follow the next trend. Considering just how stubborn they have been with gamers recently, I wouldn't be surprised if they just straight up refused to give us good deals again, specially at the low end.
