Would an Intel Xbox use Battlemage, Celestial, Druid or a Custom Graphics architecture made specifically for Microsoft?

CompressedAIBlocks

What are you guys expecting from the Switch 2? More of the same or will their be a Nintendo gimmick? Switch's "gimmick" was being a hybrid which was hugely successful for them.

Would an Intel Xbox help save Intel’s graphics division from its uncertain road currently

What will be the next big thing that PS6/Xbox Next brings to the table? PS5/XSX brought SSDs, dedicated I/O, RT to the masses and the ability to hit a more consistent 60+ FPS. Will next gen be more of the same?

Tom talked about various ways Sony could have done a PS5 Pro. It seems like they went with a more cost effective version that just basically gets same settings but higher performance unless specifically trying to take advantage of it. Do you guys think this will slot in at current PS5 pricing and current PS5 will go down in price?

What are your thoughts on the current AAA gaming landscape? I know it's an incredibly vague question but to me it seems stagnant and very volatile with costs getting out of control. It doesn't seem viable for a lot of companies and sustainable for even fewer.

Where does Xbox fit in next gen? It's not really even fitting in this gen and arguably last gen. Consoles come down to PlayStation for the "core" gamer, Nintendo for the "casual" and a lot of people double dip or go solely with PC. Will they be able to carve out their own niche?

Hi Tom and Colin. What do you feel the next CEO of PlayStation should focus on for their tenure. Better 3rd party relationships? More 1st party studio teams and games in development or acquisitions. I personally think we need more 1st party AA titles in between the big tentpole releases. Thanks for joining MLID!. Question for Tom if time permits. On the hardware aspect of the PS6, It’s likely they’ll continue with their custom storage that was developed for the PS5. For the PS6 I’d love to see a system level implementation of an upscale algorithm that can be utilized for PS4 and older BC titles that can increase resolutions to 4k or higher output. Especially if PS1/2 emulation stays, I’d love to see proper integer scaling implemented and used. What would you like to see Sony do that’s unique for the PS6 vs Xbox/PC

I've been a huge advocate and supporter of the indie and AA scene for many, many years now. I'd love to see more support for these on consoles to the same degree we see in the PC space. Do you guys think Sony, Microsoft or Nintendo will take these types of games seriously? They would definitely help fill out the spaces between AAA releases while also being cost effective for consumer and developer.

Hogwarts Legacy was one of the highest grossing revenue and selling games of 2023. It's also a game that isn't live service or loaded with microtransactions. Do you think this will signal to developers that people want a shift towards a more traditional game or do you think this did as well as it did because it is Harry Potter?

I have to say this is not surprising at all giving one of the most recent videos from Tom. I posted a comment before the latest Sacred Symbols before, won’t bother repeat it here, for brevity’s sake, but I’m keen on the analysis from Colin regarding this apparent approach from PlayStation on the Pro console: let it be easier to make higher FPS versions of games with little cost, rather than making it so you need to have a “base PS5” and ALSO a PS5 Pro version of a game. Cheers all

Do you think the Switch 2 is 4nm or 8nm? There have been valid evidence for both, so it would be nice to hear what you’ve heard.

What do you guys think it'll take for AA/B tier game publishing and support to improve? It seems like a decent amount of solid games, ones that don't break the bank to produce, find themselves in a situation where the publisher barely markets the game, the game doesn't move copies in the crucial first two weeks, then patches and support dry up after 6-9 months.

Let's say Microsoft decide to go with Intel for their next console. Which option do you think would be better for sales of the next Xbox - have "normal" specs for a next-gen console but sell it extra cheap or having above normal specs and a regular price? Do you think backwards compatibility would be an issue?

With how many switches there are out in the wild how long will game dev make or port new games to the 7 year old switch?

Hi Tom and Colin. It seems pretty clear for me from Xbox's push of Game Pass and their cloud gaming service and Xbox's perceived hesitancy to continue to make console hardware (Based on Tom's recent leaks where Xbox is still not sure on who to partner with meanwhile Sony already has contracts signed with AMD). Microsoft is trying turn Xbox brand into something like Netflix but for gaming by saying that they would be open to put Game Pass on other consoles (Similar to how Netflix has apps on every device out there). Do you think other console companies like Sony and Nintendo will allow Xbox to put Game Pass on their consoles?

MultiNati

Hi Tom and Colin. It has been years since Colin was on Broken Silicon, I'm just wondering on how two you think of the value proposition of game subscription models like Game Pass, PS Plus, and others has evolved throughout the years. Xbox leaked slides from 6 months ago indicates that Game Pass has difficulties of making money below a certain threshold of subscribers. I wonder if other game subscription services are facing the same problem. For me it seems dumb of Xbox to put highly anticipated AAA game like Starfield that can sell for millions at $70 on Game Pass from day one. If a majority of the consumers are willing to pay full price for a game, it seems weird to me that the companies want to convert that to subscription revenue.

Xavbeat03

How do you think the gaming landscape might change if Microsoft goes with Intel for the next Xbox(if they make one).

Donkey Kong Odyssey

Will the Nintendo Switch 2 finally give me handheld 1080p60 gaming? Will it have an AMD SoC? And if not, is AMD's partnership with Samsung a hint that maybe AMD wants to be an option for Nintendo?

Falto

If Xbox stops making consoles, how would things shake up for ps6 and onwards. How cocky will sony (and possibly Nintendo) be?

No news yet on the increasingly concrete rumors about the release of the 4090 ti?
