The Oni had come to feed, its predator instincts leading it to the prey-rich territory of Hime's clan.

The recently victorious princess puts together her hunting party and tracks the creature down. As nocturnal as the kitsune themselves, the Oni's thoughts are only of safety and sleep, not of hidden foes lurking in the increasingly brightening shadows of the foliage overhead.

And they were not alone... the Blade Maidens would see the creature defeated as well. Though no great friend of the Kitsune, the Maidens saw the greater threat of a prolonged conflict between Kitsune and Oni to the neighbouring human settlements.

In this, the Maidens and Fox Spirits were united in cause. The Oni had to die...
