I haven't seen this one, but as Malick goes: I feel like saying BADLANDS is your favorite Malick is equivalent to saying you don't like Malick...and of the handful of Malick films I've seen, it's certainly my favorite. THE TREE OF LIFE I found wavered between marvelous and moving in the ways it was aiming for and self-parodically, dully "poetic." THE THIN RED LINE I found rather tedious but I am sure I need to try it again, could've just been where I was that day. DAYS OF HEAVEN I found suffocating in its "beauty" and a shining example of the way Malick can emphasize his lyricism at the expense of his characters and their story...but Linda Manz is terrific.

Unrelated to the episode, but this is A place to say this: I got 8/9 single-digit percentages on today's Cinematrix, which is where I like it (if I can't get all 9 that way) and I was pretty sure that 9th would take me into the doubles, but I had to do it because I had to go "Gary-centric" with one of those Keke Palmer spaces.
