Always a pleasure having Bobby back on the show! Did we miss mentioning any of your favorite Tilda performances?

Yes, great movie! Love that Bobby is on for this. A Tilda recommendation I have is Stephanie Daley. Any movie where the poster has two women looking off into the distance is bound to be good and that one certainly is. Also, not The Shallow End! 🤣

I always get sad whenever ppl bring up this directing duo bc the convo tends to go forward instead of backwards and leaves out one of their most interesting movies, Suture. It’s like if Seconds had a disorienting racial component on top of everything else. Dennis Haysbert’s the lead and it was on the Criterion Channel at the same time as The Deep End.

As a major dorkus about SNL, I can tell you that there are a bunch of us who are saying, "So are they gonna do a '5-Timers Club' sketch in this one?" whenever someone's hosting for the fifth time. (I tend to think some people should cool it and remember that the "5-Timers Club" IS *A BIT*, but I digress.) If I were fervent in that way about THOB's records, I'd be like that with "6-Timers" quizzes. But it's nice to have the parallel, the "they don't do it eeeeeevery time" parallel.

Every time someone mentions Julia Ormond on this show, I scream

Bobby is such a great guest. You can tell he is a regular listener or at least, did his research on the show and format. (This is no shade towards other THOB guests. Just podcast guests in general who go in blind and then don’t fit the vibe of the show they’re on)

Matthew

top 5 tilda: we need to talk about kevin, michael clayton, memoria, only lovers left alive, problemista

Every time I say 'Tilda' in my head, it's either in the voice of Drew Droege's Chloe or Meryl misnaming her as 'GILDA' during her Iron Lady Globes acceptance speech

I watched every episode of Pan Am when it originally aired but remember absolutely nothing about it now aside from the cast and the period look of the show.

I may be one of those ‘too cool for school’ Tilda fans from the 90s. 😂 I’m just so grateful to live in the age of this wonderfully weird performing artist. There is only one of her.

world’s #1 Montana Story stan clocking in! My sister’s friend’s father played the comatose dad

Hello Joe and Chris, I’m a huge fan and just wondering if it’s possible to find out what films are being discussed each week a little earlier. I like the clues you post but I like to get a chance to watch the films before they’re discussed. I like to listen to the episode as soon as it drops. I understand you are both extremely busy so it’s ok if you can’t but just a suggestion. Thank you from a devoted Gary. ❤️

I saw Orlando in high school in the 90’s because I’m a lesbian. My friends and I loved it so much that we went to see Female Perversions in the theater, and we were BAFFLED.

THOB: “The Gay Stuff” episode

As a pfeiffer pfan, i was shocked that they hadn’t done her on the IMDb game. And also, her known 4 is odd. She definitely deserves better. No Batman returns? No dangerous liaisons? No age of innocence? Who do we complain to about this?!

Ang Lee's Dad

Jim Broadbent is the only true straight ally for acting opposite 3/5 Best Actress nominees that year.

Brandon Skidmore

Thanks to your Hilary Swank discussion, I was able to play “I Am Mother” for 1% on today’s Cinematrix! 😂

Cecil Spencer

Thought Montana Story was pretty good, but really enjoyed Kimberely Guerrero.

Also, I need to find an excuse to get an Edge of Seventeen episode on THOB or TB... also features a late 90s/early 00s mom who doesn't know how to handle her gay son... it was my introduction to Bronski Beat.

Is Tilda the six-timer with the best six movies eligible in her game? Seems like it

Jose S. De Leon

It's been like 15 years since I last saw this movie but I remember thinking that Jonathan Tucker was playing it as if his character thought Tilda killed Josh Lucas so it made their dynamic more interesting since each of them thought they were hiding the same secret
