Hey guys,

Just wanted to drop a line. Real life and the day job have been kicking my butt this week :P I drafted the next chapter 3 days ago and still haven't been able to get back to revising it yet! I'm about 3/4 through the current book I think and the last 1/4 feels like doozey to complete.

Anyway, I'm still at it! I'm still shooting for that August release. Any of you experience this, getting to the very end of something and it seems like it's going to take more effort to complete the last 25% than the first 75%? Or maybe it's just me :D

Would love to hear your thoughts on the story so far in general too. Is it heading in the direction you hoped? What are the things you are looking forward to? And what things did you not like so much? All feedback is appreciated!

Best,

-Rick

Hi Rick, great series... I think one of the strengths of this story was the sci-fi element as a central focus instead of pure fighting, grinding and leveling... I think we are more stuck in a D&D narrative side of the story at the moment. Also, the love interest interaction maybe a little distracting especially since it doesn't make too much sense for Aiko to be flirting with the MC....she always seemed older like Val, the MC already had Gilly, etc., so that seemed to be forced a little and not realistic. Accordingly, it seems like the current scenes have too many distractions - lost focus??? Fly shit in the pepper time: The labyrinth run and descriptions of having to line up discs, etc. also were a little cumbersome to conceptualize as a reader. The whole mechanism wherein the MC suddenly gets super powers and loses it was also lost on me a bit...I may be dense or maybe it was left a little too abstract? Currently, I do not understand the whole let's build a fort scene - they are supposed to be running to get back ASAP before everyone dies and they stop to build a fort complete with luxurious baths??? Anyway, it is these types of elements that seem disconnected from your previous chapters which were very well done....the whole labyrinth forward writing seems forced....too many characters interacting simultaneously? No comic relief? You wanted feedback - please keep this in context of overall superior work.

Hi Rick! I just joined and thanks for the stories, keep it going, the last bits are always the hardest in anything. Now I’m gonna start reading book three, can’t wait to get started. I love that you asked for feedback, always good to know what your audience is looking for. Again, thanks for the great story and looking forward to what comes next.
