First Look: Jam & Friends! (Patreon)

So Jam & Friends pages are underway! I spent a chunk of time this month writing out the scripts and outlines and I've been working on pages. Thought I'd give a look at some of the first layouts. Some of the sketches have been around a bit, but all these layouts are actual final layouts based off the scripts instead of just concept work.

I still have a few small missing scenes, but I'll have those written within the week, so that will fill out the entire first portion of the story arc. I've got the whole outline for the story line so everything is locked in.

Mostly I'm excited to be at the point of working on art for Jam and well... friends again! Raspberry, Pepper and her friend Chiffon will also be showing up very soon. Other familiar characters from the world will show up as well, but that's for later!

I'll be sharing the progress of everything here of course. And I thought it might be fun to do small lore bits about their world. Cause I realized while working on these and drawing them holding water bottles that I actually didn't really care for that from an environmental standpoint. So what if their water bottles are edible? What if some drinks get their flavor from their bottle. It's like a snack and drink in one!

I thought of maybe including little snippets of stuff like that within the comic itself. Maybe a little cut away panel that has a pic of something and a description. This could be for background characters as well to get to know them! I really enjoyed a kind of spooky and weird comic by Junko Mizuno way back called Pure Trance that did something like this to flesh out the world and loved it. So yeah, might give that a shot!

Anywho! Back to the pages, we start off with Plum and Pickles getting ready to move into a new space after Plum managed to secure her research grant and welp, now Jam is here too! But why? : D There's gotta be a reason right?

Now, Jam & Friends will be a webcomic and isn't going to have the full on NSFW shenanigans as the other comics, but there will still be plenty of loads of adult fun happening in stories outside of the webcomic itself. And it'll be canon to the world of course!

So yeah! Excited to be back drawing my cuties and I hope you'll all enjoy where the next chapter of their stories gets to.
