44:22 THE SHOT OF ALL TIME

Sarah

in all of television

mantellian

the way i knew EXACTLY the shot you were talking about without even looking!

you understand meeee

i think the translation must have been off in the flashback scene cos in my version joowon uses the present tense, as in dongshik NOW knows minjung was still alive so could've been saved (off topic but how much do i love the way his voice breaks with the second 'you promised meeee!' - he's genuinely so hurt that dongshik broke his word, bless him! which i think is also a big part of what's motivating the glow-up/rule-breaking - you're so right about him trying to take a page out of dongshik's book but basically being too essentially inescapably himself to pull it off successfully!) jeongje is just my 6ft smol lil bean whom i love to bits. the friend trio are so dear to me.

if ur stupid then i'm also stupid bc I remember being confused the first time I watched this, both murder plot wise and also relationship wise bc I felt like juwon and dongsik were besties 5mins ago and now suddenly juwon is back on the warpath?? i won't comment on the main plot for fear of spoilers but here’s my take on the loverboys at least: I think juwon just feels hurt/betrayed bc he believes very rigidly in following the letter of the law (on a black/white thinking autistic level and also bc he resents his dad for prioritising his own career success over justice), and whilst he could understand dongsik’s actions as necessary for the greater good this was still conditional on their agreement that dongsik would ultimately turn himself in and accept punishment once jinmook was exposed. But then dongsik turned around and broke (his heart) his trust by continuing to skirt accountability, whereas juwon tried to accept responsibility for his own mistakes with the other victim he got killed. I think there’s also some projection going on bc with the reveal that minjeong was still alive, juwon sees dongsik’s actions as analogous to his own sting operation fuck up - focusing on trying to catch the killer lead to an innocent woman ending up dead. So it’s a bit of, juwon hates himself for his own mistakes and therefore rn he hates dongsik for them too. At the same time, like you said I think juwon has wisened up over these 3 months and is definitely starting to learn from dongsik’s playbook so that’s playing into the internal conflict as well. Basically to me juwon is in that part of a queer YA story where he’s kissed the pretty boy but is still kind of living in wilful denial despite actively being in love with him lmao anyway another note, i know the show keeps vaguely alluding to jae yi and juwon but honestly they are sooo svetlana and ilya core to me like that's his girlbestfriend fr

I was also confused at this point in the show, I just let the show lead me. The way dongsik and juwon are kissing after every scene in my minddd wdym you just keep breaking into his house

Kelly Anne

juwon definitely had a glow up yet still maintained his annoying qualities, bless

Sarah

juwon is so funny ill impale you with my horns of justice ohmy god just kiss him gay boy

I feel like I need juwons character arc to improve because I still find him so annoying at times - like I finally thought he had gotten a grip and now it’s like he’s worse 😭 but I also think I feel this because dongsik is so compelling to me and is going through hell and then juwon just seems to be there making it worse most of the time
