Content

Dan opens the show talking about a new copycat channel that had stolen his series name in order to trick the audience into a cash grab. Rick responds to superchat rant responses. Dan uses his psychic abilities to cold read Rick and makes a perfect hit. Psychic Tyler Henry gives a reading to Vashon Conyers’ (Down in the Devil’s Well) mother which Dan finds infuriating. Enjoy!

I love Rick, but I'm also done with his antics. He's a 60 plus year old man that has the maturity of an adolescent .

If Dan wants to go on a road trip and film things, great. I'll look forward to watching these videos on his YouTube. But I honestly only pay for Patreon (going on since before the podcast started) to listen to the podcast. Used to get two episodes a week. Now none? I got a muffler to repair. I'm sorry, but the other Patreon stuff doesn't interest me. The Livestreams don't capture my interest either. Not saying they're bad, just not my thing. Idk what I'm getting out of this anymore. Dan himself basically sold his Patreon on the podcast alone. He can't pretend like you're getting your money's worth without it. This isn't a charity. It's a transaction. What am I getting out of it? I'm seriously asking. I'd love to see high production content popping out knowing my $5 was a small contribution to it. But I haven't been. At least the podcast was 2+ hours a week of Grade A entertainment. It's phenomenal. I don't know why Ricks bitching about his superchats or slow channel growth had to keep getting forced into the topic of conversation repeatedly in these podcasts (by Dan.) Rick tried to avoid the topic, showed discomfort talking about it, yet week after week his behind the scenes gripes got shoved front and center. I can't blame Rick for this. If anything, all the more reason to just ignore him behind the scenes. But Dan's patrons just wanted to hear a fun podcast. Instead we're being forced to dwell in this drama, holding out every week/month waiting to get our $5 worth. Instead we get dumb ghost videos. News flash: ghosts aren't real. Buy a science book instead of a broken radio off Amazon. Seriously, this fucking shit and these bullshit gadgets have all been thoroughly debunked and discredited. Maybe the "ghosts" in Dan's apartment are just his subconscious telling him to get the fuck out for 10-12 hours a day like normal people do. Stop drinking 2 pots of coffee, smoking two packs of cigarettes, and sleeping all day. It's funny because Rick is bitching about not getting what Dan does, but Dan is maybe getting a little too comfortable with the patron bucks and superchats. Back in 2013, Dan was on the road for months pumping out high production content with none of this support. Now he barely leaves his apartment with it. Just trying to be honest here. It's been a lot of wasted talent lately. The skills I know he has haven't been demonstrated in 2-3 years.

Lots of things change in nine years. Dan’s been clear about his struggles with mental health and complications caused by collaborators for quite a while now. I’m more than happy with my $5 a month going toward funding a weekly livestream and a podcast while he plans his next project. If you have no empathy for him while he goes through a difficult time in his life and expect him to perform like a wind-up monkey while you mock a significant portion of his content, maybe you’d be happier elsewhere.

True. However, I think Rick the giant baby can also be a lot of fun. The problem on the podcast for me was not Rick’s lack of maturity, it was the fact that the interaction between Dan and Rick was no longer working. Rick withdrew more and more from the conversation and sounded increasingly like he was only there to plug his own channel. Dan, on the other hand, overdid it with the mockery and the humiliation. Playing a silly sound effect *every single time* Rick says something can’t be helpful. Tbh, it’s also not much fun to listen to.

Dana

Man I was looking forward to listening to the podcast at work today. Now it’s gone. Wtf. Maybe think about what you are posting to your paying customers first instead of give us hope to have something to listen to and then delete it. What the fuck for real

Sebastien Bolduc

Better get that ring out, Rick. Just sayin' LOL

It’s HIS channel - if he posts something and then decides he’s uncomfortable with it, he has every right to delete it. Maybe if people would quit acting like entitled babies on here when Dan doesn’t 100% perform to their liking, he wouldn’t be so hesitant to speak his mind and then delete it later.

What happened to the podcast posted yesterday?

One thing I will never understand with Dan's fans especially patreon fans is how hypocritical they are lmao dan says some vile ass shit about basically everyone, content creators, ex patreons, ex friends, ex cohost, celebrities but its "funny" yet when somebody says something about dan its wow he has mental health issues or let's be more empathetic or its been a rough couple of years 🤷🏻‍♀️

So you continue to pay for the privilege of leaving comments in Patreon? No one is forcing you to stay if you dislike Dan so much.

Dan, all I can say about everything is you deserve whatever time you feel to do whatever YOU WANT AND NEED. People like to kick others when they are down, and I’m not here for that. I am here to support you, support what you choose to create and share with us, and it’s a wonderful ride! I hope you can overlook the rude bullshit and focus on your future creative ventures, and I can’t wait to see what you choose to do next! Much love always 🙌🏻

Ashlee Wynne

I hope you guys can work things out. I’m a longtime fan since the original urbex vids and love both of your content. You have an awesome friendship and chemistry that isn’t worth losing. Dan, if you need a mental health road trip then go for it! Looking forward to see what you find along the way. Rick: I have been trying to support you recently by buying from your shop here and there. I’ve done the same for Dan because to me, you are both creators worth supporting. Not big on CHWR (I don’t dig livestreams at all really) but I think Another Odd Place has a lot of potential. Download Atlas Obscura and go crazy! You’d be surprised what weird things are right in your backyard. I think your apologies are appreciated by most of us here, and we want to see you thrive! But you might not get the winning formula right away. Be patient and persistent, and we will be here ready to see what you cook up!

Louie Caponecchia

Well there ya go. Dan just said my comments have merit. It's like I said, he needed a little negative reinforcement.

Louie, I think YOU need a bit of negative reinforcement. You are welcome to speak your mind but unfortunately when you do it's not in an intelligent manner. I, Sir, think you're a class "A" ass.
