PATREON LIVE : SATURDAY EXPLANATION

Comments

James Gillie

Not working for me either...

Chrissy C

Very understandable. I enjoyed the Vlog today.

iggyb

Dan, thank you for this explanation. It makes more sense to me now. I just want you to know that many of us really do appreciate the livestreams. They don't have to be on Saturday night. Just whenever you feel like it. I think many of us like it because it is like riding along with a friend (s). It is intimate. So I would rather get one random livestream every 3 months on Patreon that does not make you feel so exposed to the crazies out there, than a public livestream every Saturday that leaves you so exposed. I will be honest, every time you met a "fan" on the street, I got nervous for you. Fortunately, they all seemed like very decent people. However, that is an incredible risk to take IMHO. And with all the drama surrounding your own personal Boomer-gate (you know who)---I think you are wise to limit your exposure. So, yeah, this makes me feel a lot better about the whole thing. Just, whenever you feel like it, throw us a livestream on Patreon and be yourself for us. We're your friends here. Take care.

Arizona Freedom

I am looking forward to the Polaroid quiet time...that sounds really interesting and relaxing 😌

Charles Easton

The livestream when you were in Newport News was excellent, I'd love to see that on Patreon. I can understand not wanting to have all the stuff up there. Don't hold back on the drama on our account though 🙃

RobM

Understood. I did enjoy the SNLstreams, but there really were too many damn people in the room. Couldn’t even have a conversation in the comments as there were just too many flying by

James Gillie

I'm going to miss the Saturday lives for sure, but won't miss waiting up until 2am here in the UK to watch them. Super excited for all the Patreon content though!

Bentstrider Nittoni

Again, appreciated the Livestreams over the past 2-3 years. It was a livestream that got me into the Patreon. But the elimination of the public livestream is definitely the way to close the door on the "old era". Got to keep doing what feels right to you.

Jack Ladny

Do what you enjoy , and we will all follow . Please make sure if you can , we can all watch on patreon . You guys are great .

MeSolo

I think it’s great. What used to work doesn’t anymore and it’s ok to change. Being more guarded isn’t a bad thing. There are always going to be the unhappy little trolls that not matter what, will twist anything you do or say. Do what is right for you and do what makes you happy. The true fans will always be around for that! ❤️

Kimbra

U two are so funny. I love how Dan tells a crazy story and keeps a straight face while I'm laughing cause I know how outrageous it is. It's good Dan that you stopping The Saturday night gig for you. Take care brother and love your content.

Espy White

i’m actually glad your making this change!!! I enjoyed the live streams but the patreon is a lot better. Really excited for the content y’all can focus on without the saturday night live stream now!

Levi Hall

Well I'll be honest it kinda sucks past episodes are gone. I really loved the drive thru episode and the manor🤣. Either way still a fan, it does make sense having the film it not be flooded with lives

Susan

I can't wait for quiet time. I love those. So soothing!!

Erica D

The stream isnt working for me either.

Tyler McMaster

Love your content Dan. I’ve been watching your stuff since 2016. I hate how the people on Youtube ruined a good thing. I’m sure you will come up with something even better!

A2Wx8

Makes sense to me to change direction, I enjoyed them, especially the earlier ones, but it felt like the drama was kind of always lurking in the more recent ones and it was sucking the energy and fun out of them, it had to be draining to make. Focus your energy on making the content you are enthusiastic for.

Amanda

Sad to see the past videos deleted. I never cared for ADR but the drives were terrific company to me. Maybe you would reconsider leaving them up? PS I was just thinking about your tour of Edgar Allen Poe locations and how awesome that was. Anyways looking forward to watching your future videos ❣️

hi steve. this is another reason there won’t be anymore saturday night live streams. it’s exhausting hearing hundreds of people complain about my decision to delete something that embarrasses me. i feel the peace bathing me in light now mate. ha.

Amanda

Can’t wait! Gotta do what feels right so all power to you Dan 🙏💞

SwedishChef1977

I haven't watched this stream yet, but all I have to say is that you're the captain of the ship. If you feel that something that you do isn't working anymore or isn't giving you any satisfaction by doing it, then of course you need to ditch it and move on to something else. So no matter the reason you're doing the right thing for you. That's what's most important in the end. If you enjoy doing something, then others will enjoy it too - and naturally vice versa. Just do your thing as long as you're happy and proud about it! ♥️

Mikeyyy

Very sad to see the Saturday livestreams end. I so wish the old streams from the past couple of years were left up or at least made available just for patrons to revisit. Nothing for Dan to be embarrassed of IMO, I feel this is where we saw Dan’s personality shine; where I felt Dan was most real and down to earth. Whether bitching and ranting, which I love, or storytelling and exploring. Many will agree, it was like being there in the truck and hanging out. Saturdays with Dan and Dylan’s occasional appearance will be greatly missed. Been a fan since 2015 and I’ve looked forward to all content Dan’s provided us with ever since. Hoping for the best in the future.

I totally get it.. I wouldn’t want it all hanging out either. I’m glad stuff will be on here though. you do you! I’m here for it! .. and Dill too. ☺️🌷🤍

Gio Persico

I think you made a logical and well-calculated decision Dan.

Obeez

I totally get it Dan and Dillon. I didn’t know you felt like that where you dreaded doing the Saturday night drives. We would love to see you do just patreon only lives :) keep up the great work and making this world a better place! :)

Dorian M

Was this taken down? Doesn't seem to be working for me.

Bob

I enjoyed the Saturdays while they lasted but I understand and agree with you. I guess they served a purpose through covid. But yeah I fully support keeping live streams to the patreon and in terms of time and productivity personally I'd rather see your videos over a livestream. But can't wait to see what's coming next, and if you do, do a patreon exclusive Saturday it would be some much more positive and a better experience for You and Dillon, as well as the viewer.

Bill & Stephanie Weyand

Totally respect your decision Dan. I think the Saturday lives is something you just had to do/experience to know it's not something you want to continue. I can concur with some of the others on here that there are just sooooo many people in the live streams. It not only makes it harder to keep tabs on what's happening, who's saying what, spammers, negative people, but like you said opens the door for drama. I enjoy your content no matter what, and have learned there's too much other important shit in life to worry about the small stuff. You do you boo, and we'll be here waiting for the next best thing. 😉❤️ - Steph

Gina Patterson Livengood

Dang I still can't play the video. It shows a link with jpg at the end. Instead of the video.

Kim Carr

It was fun while it lasted, but if you aren’t feeling it, it’s time to move on. Looking forward to what’s ahead!

Just read the comments from the beginning. There's a link to the video that works with desktop browsers.

Tena Sue
>>103565906

On pc I wasn't able to, but using the Patreon app on my phone worked for me.

DJ Metzler

I deeply respect your decision. I am very thankful to have made several friends through those Saturday Night live streams. To me, that's what I love about you. It's more than just Dan Bell the creator. The entire Dan Bell community is great because we all have an appreciation for film, humor, podcasts, and are all pretty damn tolerant. Obviously, there are relationships to be built here, but Saturdays threw it altogether.

Allie Prinzo

“Pringles” on YouTube will truly miss Saturday nights. I don’t really have many friends and I have a baby and those videos were my escape every week. BUT everything you post is an escape for me. Gotta do what feels right to you! I’ll still watch everything you put out for us like always! Hugs xoxo

JdoubleU

I'm good with it, Dan! Like I said before, I'm happy you are doing you! The stuff you've been posting/creating has been great fun to watch. Also, it's was great to get to know Dillion better via the live streams. Such a sweetie :) Happy to see he's on a lot of the other things you've been producing. Such an awesome pair you two make!!

Amber

You do you and hunty we will follow either way.

Nolan Schenburn

As much of a bummer as it is, I understand! I loved interacting with the other fans but I’m happy to hear Patreon will have livestreams. Crossing my fingers Patreon will occasionally get a Saturday night one.
