Lool Ivar doesn’t even care about power anymore he just wants a purpose aka invading and conquering England I don’t think you realise how much Ivar has changed don’t think he’s not the same person as he was in S5

I do feel for Hvitserk, as I feel he has Ragnar's lack of faith and direction . Like when Ragnar was starting to not believe in Odin and Valhalla, Hvisterk reminds me of that so for him to meet the 'goddess' would be a big deal, whether or not it helps him start truly believing again is still up for question though. Also he has Ragnar's addiction problem too which obviously doesn't help his situation so i do feel for him in that sense as he is the only brother to not have that sense of direction or 'fate'

Y'all are missing the point that even King Harald alluded too. Yes Ivar is a kid with issues, a lot of issues but his brothers didn't respect his opinions until he proved that his plans could work. Ivar never felt equal to his brothers so he had to do everything better than them, and he did. The only problem is he was too young to rule at the time, with yes people around him and no one to really nurture him into a good man (all he knows from his father is literally how to be cruel and ruthless). Aslaug said "i will birth a monster if you force yourself on me " and that's what happend. Ivar is a molotov cocktail from all Ragnar's foul characteristics and lack of compassion and spoiledness from Aslaug.

Ivar didn't have much of a choice but to go against Bjorn if we are being honest. Looking at his point of view after he fled he was captured by the Rus and then had no way to escape until he did really. Maybe you could argue he could have tried to switch sides during the war but he had a lot of growing to do while he was away and how could he be sure after everything they'd take him back espeically after Hvisterk so recently killed Lagertha. He kinda had to pick sticking with Hvisterk the one brother he's been closest with along with oleg and Katia who he cared about or risking it with a load of people who wanted him dead for such a long time. Think Ivar's growth over the season was massive and you could tell he didn't agree with a lot of stuff Oleg did which before he himself would have likely done or worse

Also think the Ivar and Hvisterk being forgiven is hard to believe I agree but through out the show that's always been a thing you kinda have to see. Lagertha attacked Kattegat Harold had someone try to take Kattegat for him they both went on to rule Kattegat. I mean Bjorn Lagertha Ubbe Torvi all going to England after losing to Ivar seemed way more far fetched at least the viking people share the same gods and Ivar and Hvisterk and have seen them grow up respect Ragnar and probably can at least respect them for some of the stuff they've done. The English hated all vikings and the gods they followed but gave them all a chance because of Bishop Heahmund
