So the way vervain works is that they have to touch it or have it in their system for it to affect them and as long as someone has it in the system or on their person that person cannot be compelled and their blood is undrinkable. The vervain that Damon gave was real, I just always assumed that since Lexi was older she could resist it a little. But she was definitely weakened from it because Damon wouldn’t have been able to kill her and there’s a little more to it but I don’t wanna spoil you.

@Tay'sCupO'Joe NO he is not, do not convince yourself of that, I told you already, because you are going to loose 95% of the TVD fandom that adore Damon, and people are not fools, they adore Damon for many reasons, he is the star of the show and people relate to him a lot.

Damon and Lexi, have some history, they do not like each other, as you can understand in this episode and to be honest I never liked Lexi much, the way she was pimping Stefan to Elena.....and the rest.... Damon killing Lexi was important because he deflected the council attention from them and gain the sheriff trust. Plus there is a very important reason that cannot be told, but there is more to the story. Damon knows, that killing Lexi would have impacted Stefan badly, making him mad, that is why he waited in his room for Stefan to react. Remember Damon is much stronger that Stefan, he let his brother beat him without retaliation, without defend himself. He knew that in Stefan's eyes he deserved that and he let him.

No is not my opinion, I am telling you facts. No my judgements is base on tings that the writers already told you, since episode 3, the kitchen scene that is crucial, Stefan's lies to Elena, Damon NOT outing his brother, when he could have. Damon and Stefan are Vampire, one is in control of his vampirism, one is in negation of what he is, in denial, Is being in denial of your life condition a good positive thing? Why is Stefan that keeps Katherine picture ready available in his bedroom and glance at her when he see Elena? Why hasn't he told her she iooks like Katherine? He is in love with her? Why? Why the writers, made Stefan said that Damon is a monster and show the opposite in episode 2 when he was in Elena's room looking at her with tenderness an compassion? Why the writers already hint tat the beef between te brothers is serious, an Stefan has told that part of the story to Elena....as per Damon said to her in ep. 6 when she said "He told me enough" and Damon answered: " I doubt that!" ta didn't tell you anything? Not an hint of a doubt. Girl, this show is very smart, and the writers give for granted that the audience pick up on the signal they are putting there. Children will not pick them up, that is why this show is not for children, but you don't seam to be a child. Don't be so self assure of your convictions because the more you show you are sure about things the more you look superficial and lacking in critical thinking, not to be amble enough to have an open mind that you might be wrong on things badly , because your pride prevent you to admit it. That is how children thing.

At this part of the show I went from being scared of what Damon was going to do next . To trying to figure out his master plan . Can our good hearted characters change Damon . Damon the strongest weapon we have an he can't be controlled . He's a wild card 100% As much as we don't like damons Actions . Do we need his dark ways to fight the greater evil that might be down the line ? That's the question .

When Damon took out Lexi I wasn't mad at him crazy as that sounds. I was like this show not scared to get rid of a loved character. An this episode I realized Damon a mastermind at Planning . This low-key might be the episode I became a Damon fan . I appreciate smart an complex characters .

I know I have so much more information on the characters because I’ve watched the whole thing but it definitely is hard to watch the Damon slander episode after episode and not get irritated a little even though he really does have horrible moments. I would just encourage to try to keep a more open mind because almost every character has questionable qualities at one point or another and a lot of characters are more than what you initially see. I love Damon’s comedic bad boy banter.

The reason why Jeremy is acting that way and why Damon said I took away his suffering is bc Vicky was part of that why he was acting like that and now that Damon did what he did he's acting more idk better bc she's not there making him suffer, that's what the show is trying to imply
