Yo, W reaction Tay and Joel! What I love about this episode is the fact that they hit us with two plot twists near the end. I enjoyed that moment between Stefan and Shelia, Bonnie’s grandma. Grandma said anybody can get it if you come for my family. This might come as a shock but Damon’s actually growing on me lol.

Well let’s be clear Damon is my favorite character, by my profile pic you can see what characters I’m drawn to. Now to my point, he kill lexy, he kill his ex lover/lexy friend, his uncle, all the drugies. I mean the list goes on. He has assaulted carolin because compelling can’t be consent. I can’t explain it to you without spoiling things. But with your logic, every single character in this show are just horrible including the humans because let’s face it we’re in S1. We’re barely scratching the surface of the complexity and the depth of these characters and the VAMPIRE LORE in this show. There’s a big reason why Damon has been acting like this since the beginning of the show. This show has been written with the intention to challenge your morality and to make you face the deepest part of yourself and by that I mean every single hidden corner of your darkness and the light that your soul is made of. Nothing in this show is what it seems and I’m gonna let them explore this on their own.

Something you should know is that Stefan is a master manipulator and his manipulation tendencies reaches to its peek when ever he feels like he's losing control of the situation. This is exactly how a manipulative partner would act when ever they get in trouble. Stafan was holding valuable information so he could use it at the right time, the time when he needs those information to either defend himself or escape from eccusation. He was never honest with Elena, first he didn’t tell her that he was a vampire, Elena found it out herself, he didn’t tell her that she looks like Katherine, again she found Katherine's picture herself, now that he is about to lose Elena, he is willing to do anything even using manipulation on her so she wouldn’t leave him. First he is making her even feel guilty for being mad at him because he was the one who saved her, triggering her gratitude respons to ease her anger, she now owes her life to him and then he dropped a huge bomb on Elena that she is adopted, completely changed the subject and made her forget why she was even mad at him in the first place and instead made her feel appreciation towards him like he is her hero. People who don’t have enough experience with manipulation can not understand how skill-fully Stefan is using different kind of methods of manipulation on Elena in this scene, even the body language he’s using is manipulative. He’s trying to gain sympathy from Elena and even from the audience. The way he’s lowering his head and look down, pulling all part of his body in to a center and in a tight position, he’s like a little child who’s trying to defend himself and prove his innocence. The same body language he's been using this entire time whenever Elena has questioned him about his lies.   Not to mention by bringing up the accident and explaining to her what exactly happened that night that his father was still conscious but he sacrificed himself for his daughter, that made Elena’s survival guilt even worse, thinking his father could’ve survived but she did instead of him. That put her even in a more fragile state, Making it so much easier for her to fall in to Stefan’s manipulation trap. He's literally saying that he stalked her for 3 months which is very creepy and a huge red flag but Elena is in a very vulnerable place right now and she can’t see the signs and Stefan used this vulnerability to his advantage. Another thing is that by telling her the secret that even her family was hiding from her, he put himself in a very trustworthy position for her, he’s telling her the truth that even her closest family didn’t. This was the build of the illusion of trust between them, keeping their relationship on a shallow level but giving it the illusion of a deep and honest relationship. Amazing writing, so many people missed this about this episode especially if you have little experience with manipulation and I love Stefan as a character, I love his character because of its complexity, he is not just a "good guy" who can do no wrong, he has depth, there’s more to Stefan that meets the eyes.
