Yes Sir I just finished ep 12 too!!! And Wellz the pacing is AMAZING in this show. I've always loved both Salvatores for different reasons and y'all will see those as y'all watch. They are complicated characters with issues and a messy past/present. Its really fun to watch y'all go through the emotions of it all though, digesting all the Lore and flashbacks. Lots more to come, cant wait!!

I do love Joe being team Damon and Tay being team Stefan! 😂 Yeah Stefan definitely had some poor judgement, he should’ve trusted Damon, like he’s your brother, but still nothing justifies anything what Damon has done to other people. And Joe you called Katherine (Elizabeth) again 😂

Katherine played them both but Damon still just blames Stefan (hypocrite). That’s my problem! Also why should Elena feel guilty for lying to him? He's been a jerk to her and her friends.🙄 Stefan's guilt is understandable though but he was naive to think his father wouldn’t catch on. Honestly, Stefan and Damon's complicated relationship is much more interesting than any romantic relationship on the show. I can't feel bad for Damon about the entire Katherine situation because he was aware of the Stefan situation too! drinking from Katherine willingly and helping her kill people before turning. Stefan on the other hand had to be compelled to continue the relationship with Katherine. Damon was obsessed with her and I get he was blinded by love but still…isn’t worth fighting with your brother over a girl.

I get Stefan’s point. He was young at the time, being only 17 years old, and thought he was helping by trying to get their father to understand a different point of view of some vampires that aren’t evil. The dad was just too smart and ended up putting two-and-two together. So Stefan technically didn’t tell him. I like him, and I’m getting to the point of liking Damon, surprisingly lol. Plus, it’s all on Katherine. Her girl Pearl was even telling her to chill out before the town realize who they are and she just wouldn’t listen.

You gotta remember Stefan was scared of Katherine when she changed in front of him. She had to compel him to not be afraid of her and Stefan has only killed vampires to protect someone where Damon has killed to protect himself or to satisfy himself

Elena is a very compassionate person and she’s very good at reading people emotionally and psychologically and that allowed her to see beyond the surface and the mask that Damon was wearing, so when everyone else sees anger and rage, Elena sees hurt in Damon’s eyes, people sees evil, Elena sees a wounded soul so she might not agree with what Damon was doing and the methods he’s using but she could understand where he’s coming from that everything he’s doing is coming from the place of love and it’s for love so the moment Stefan saw that Elena was starting to understand Damon a little more, he immediately bad mouthed his brother and essentially told Elena “don’t have any compassion for my brother”. Listen carefully to this line: “every time I let my guard down and let Damon back in my life, he’s done something that made me regret it”, what’s happening between Damon and Elena right now? Elena is slowly letting her guard down and let Damon have a space in her life. By saying that, Stefan is telling Elena “don’t ever trust Damon, he’ll make you regret it” Did Damon ever say anything bad about Stefan to Elena since the beginning of the show? Have we heard Damon side of the story too? How can we trust Stefan and what he says about his brother when all we saw in this episode was betrayal from Stefan both in the past and in the president, the past one was coming from place of immaturity and naivety but the present one was absolutely calculated and planned out. Is it really that shocking to see that Damon has trust issues? We saw in E9 that Emily only saved the vampires because Damon went to her and asked her personally to save Katherine and in return Damon was gonna save her children which he did and he was silently protecting the entire Bennet line until now but what he got in return? Emily’s betrayal and she just decided to destroy the Crystal that could open the tomb, she used him for her advantage and when it served her and after she got what she wanted from him, she refused to hold up her end of the bargain and betrayed Damon and broke his trust, another reason for Damon having trust issues. Here in this episode Damon didn’t ask for Stefan’s help, it was Stefan who sought him out and went as far as letting him believe that he could trust him only to stab him in the back in the worst possible way. It’s Damon who’s letting his guard down and starting to trust again and it’s him who’s now regretting it. Can we believe what Stefan is saying to Elena about past? because this episode is showing the contrary. Stefan was not just manipulating Elena in this episode, he was even manipulating the audience but we need to be smarter and use our decrement correctly because we as audience have an advantage over the characters in the show, we have a whole picture and this should allow us to see things more clearly and that’s why I absolutely love that you guys ask questions about why Damon has this animosity towards Stefan so without spoiling everything I just want to tell you that just be patient, you will get answers to all of your questions eventually.

There was a scene between Bonnie and Elena in E4 that was perfectly planed by the writers to give us the first glance and warning about the shady nature of the character that Stefan is. It’s like they were talking to the viewers who so blindly sided with Stefan from the very beginning and believed him as the only “good” guy and Damon as definitely the “evil” one. “Stefan’s past relationship is not my business” “Unless he’s a calculating manipulative liar, that’s your business” “Stefan is none of those things” “Well how do you know?” The writers are like ”what if he’s a calculating manipulative liar?” And the audience would be like ”Stefan is none of those things” And then the writers would be like”how do you know? Do you know his past? Do you have any idea of who he is?” The fact that this scene was foreshadowing what’s gonna happen next between them. After Episode 11, Elena and Damon started to from a newly friendship bond between them and it’s so obvious that Stefan felt so threatened by this bond, it was evident in the last episode when Elena agreed to Damon’s plan and didn’t listen to Stefan’s concerns about the plan, if you pay attention to his facial expression, you can see that he immediately felt a thaw between them and he didn’t like that at all, especially after Elena said”I’ll be with the TWO of you, I’ll be safe” she made it clear that she felt safe next to Damon as well. That’s why Stefan started to come up with the plan so he could completely destroy this newly bond and ruin the trust they have in one another. In this episode we saw how Stefan badmouthed Damon in-front of Elena in any chance he got to twist a narrative in Elena’s mind to make Elena only look at Damon the way he wanted her to see and not the way she’s perceiving herself. Stefan’s plan was calculated because on one hand he was manipulating Elena in to lying and betraying Damon and on the other hand, he knew he could destroy Damon’s trust in her as well knowing that Damon has trust issues and if he could just make Elena betray him after Damon putting his trust in her (something he would rarely do) this will make Damon not wanna put his trust in anybody else like ever again. He was definitely a calculating manipulative liar in this episode. The writers of this show are geniuses. FYI I don't consider either of the Salvatore btothers as evil. that's such a shallow take on the psychology and the complexity of these two charactor.

Girl, I'm Team Stefan for life so I feel you! 😂 Don't let these Damon d-riders fool you on popular sentiment lol. And also, Stefan did NOT really tell his father. His father specifically asked him if he knew anyone and he said no. His father just was intuitive, and when Stefan expressed sympathy for vampires in a general sense, he put two and two together. You can't put that on Stefan. Damon was just upset. Also, to confirm, Stefan was 17.

Wow this comment section is full of Damon hate and I don’t understand why? It’s like the moment you start sympathising a little more with Damon and try to understand his reasoning behind his actions as you’re supposed to, that’s literally the reason they’re showing us the past and his side of the story too and (there’s still a lot more to cover about their past), some biased Stefan’s fans are every where trying to convince you to keep hating Damon like it’s a competition. You don’t need to hate any of the Salvatore brothers, they both are super complex and has their own unique light and Darkness to their character (none of the characters including the humans are saint in this show)so my advice to you is that don’t make it about “team Stefan” or “team Damon” even if you like one more than the other, you don’t have to hate the other. Try to understand and love them both, it’s gonna be a lot more enjoyable that way because this show is 8 seasons long and Damon and Stefan are the 2 main characters and I’m gonna go as far as to tell you that they’re even more important to the story than Elena so trust me hating one of the brothers is gonna significantly reduce the amount of enjoyment and fun that you can get out of watching this show. It should be so clear to us that both Stefan and Damon were victims in this situation, they were both two innocent humans who were emotionally and physically abused by a narcissist/dark empath Vampire who inserted herself in to their lives and ruined everything for them by coming between them and turn them against each other. You’re not supposed to hate Damon, you’re supposed to hate the REAL villain Katherine. You two are very intelligent and insightful so don’t let biased fans take away this enjoyment for you because TVD is extremely Deep and complex, I can’t emphasise that enough and nothing in this show is what it seems on the surface. I really enjoy this reaction keep up the good work.

I feel this and we see this too! I’m still in the phase where Damon is growing on me (we’re further ahead in real time so I know past this now) and I am opening to his character. I’m still supporting Stefan, but understanding Damon. All in all I know there’s a lot more coming so the emotions are ever-changing😩

Look we can all enjoy a complex and very morally grey character like Damon but his morality is definitely dark dark grey and people who see no fault within him are just purely ridiculous and only care about the fact that's he's hot and funny. I don't think there's anything wrong with enjoying him as a character and an antihero that adds depth to the story but Damon is not a good person he murders people for fun and he said himself he can feed and erase their memories without really harming them but he chooses to kill, he likes it he likes killing. Damon terrorized Caroline sexually physically and mentally abused this girl all while controlling her mind so she couldn't even express the fear and torture she was going through then tried to kill her. Stefan isn't perfect by any standards but he tries to fight his nature and be good he kills only when necessary at least when he's himself. Joel I kinda get what you mean but how can you expect Stefan to trust Damon at all, he literally just killed his best friend on his birthday for his own benefit and Damon knows how important Lexi was Stefan more than you guys realize yet. Above y'all you guys need to realize that Stefan knows Damon better than anyone he knows he'd want revenge on the whole town for keeping Katherine in the tomb all those years, and Stefan cares about the people of the town who are virtually innocent in all of this since they weren't even alive when it happened. While I agree that Katherine is the real villain and you see that as the shows demonstrates how all of Damons bad behavior he learned from her, I sympathize with the fact he was abused himself but Katherine never mind controlled him, he made the choice to want to be like her, instead of overcoming his abuser he became an abuser himself, Stefan on the other hand was Caroline in this situation he was being mind controlled the whole time he didn't want to be vampire he was afraid of Katherine so she forced him not be, all those loved up happy moment you saw with Katherine and Stefan were not real she's literally forcing her self on him, and while she used a different type of manipulation on Damon he was 25 years old at the time he was a grown man who made his choices Stefan was only 17 and his choice was taken from him, they are both victims but Stefan is truly the victim in my opinion he was being forced to put on a smile and do everything Katherine wanted against his will. Tay is making some great points and I love your guys discussions I just want to give you guys a little perspective <3

From E-1 to E-13 Stefan has only killed 2 vampires Vicki and pizza guy. Vicki was gonna kill Jeremy and was about to kill Elena. Pizza guy has been invited in and would’ve killed her and her family. Damon has killed multiple people, killed the history teacher, tortured Caroline, turned Vicki, almost killed Bonnie, and killed Lexie. Katherine turned in front of him, he freaked and she compelled him. I like both Stefan and Damon as characters; yes I prefer Stefan and he has done bad things, but people forget that Damon has done bad things also or justify his actions because of his past. Just because he was hurt in the past doesn’t justify his actions now. Again they’re both good characters and the brothers aren’t entirely good and entirely bad

There are LAYERS to damon which is why people love him and enjoy watching him. And we hvent even scratched the surface of it yet. He has been the most loved character of the series for a reason. And no character in this show is completely “good” either which is why this show is so well loved. The complexity of the characters makes it. I mean wellz would know as an anime fan, characters arent all black and white

Yeah I particularly hate how some people cant let reactors naturally enjoy the show and like who they like. Like imagine being a reactor who is slowly gravitating towards liking Damon and all the haters pick up the pitchforks, of course that will throw a damper on their experience and they probably cant openly enjoy the character anymore. And they make such funny arguments against each brother too when clearly both characters are neither good or bad, it’s clearly just a matter of what kind of character a viewer is drawn more to rather than which character is objectively “better”

💯. Oh ive seen it on another reactors page. He is a really nice dude and therefore sort of let it effect him until he just said “Fuck it” and began to react how he wanted to. Also positive comments like urs began to be the norm on that page as well. I think he has a much more mature audience. But I hope Taylor and Wellz just do them regardless of how the comments feel ngl. Yh sure were there moments when bro called Stefan a hypocrite I was like.. chill (killin a Vamp isnt the same as killin a human) lol Yh, but some ppl would use that to justify going on tirades in the comment section lol. Love how the comments are split and here i am who like characters of both brothers. Sure it wasn’t always the case but eventually by around this episode or towards the end of the season i just grew to like both.

I am a Damon fan and I have also watched the series more than once lol I would like to say for me at least I didnt like Damon right off probably late season 1 I started to really like his character. I am not blind to all of the horrible things damon has done and dont expect anyone to agree with me. Everyone has their own opinion. I personally get annoyed at the fact some people act as if stefan is innocent and never does anything wrong. Damon does a lot of horrible things but he never pretends to be anything but himself. He owns up to what he does whether people like it or not
