I wasn't going to do the Olympics again and technically I haven't, but I did have this PDF. I had some from 1980 as well but the magazine didn't make a thing of it and the adverts were missing.

Of course Thames aren't using sodding VHS to record the bloody Olympics. Not even S-VHS. they're using giant open reel machines that cost more than your bloody car.

The Famous Grouse adverts look like they could potentially be a fun Not Brand X episode at some point if there are enough to fill an episode out.

I wonder who won the meal with Princess Diana?

I bloody love that Simon May theme tune. Loved it then, and now.

Forgot to ask, is the scanned issue anywhere online that I could read through?

"we're invited to contemplate the sex life of these people" That's Ivy Tilsley (well Lynne Perrie), and it would seem there was in reality a lot more to Lynne's sex life than just her husband (who she apparently spent most of her working life living apart from). "it's not the bath, it's a cake of soap" I think it is in fact just a bath, sunken into the floor, and filled with the milk that Cleopatra famously bathed in (or at least something that would look convincingly like milk without making the model gag once she spent a while in it under hot lighting). The actual product is in her right hand, and has square corners, whilst her bath doesn't, so I don't think we're meant to perceive the bath as a literal cake of their soap. I think we're just meant to equate the creaminess of the milk in the bath with the creaminess of their soap.
