Any interesting or fun side projects that are in mind possibly for the coming year?

You never did a video looking at Channel 4's new look, the Dovetail one, could that be a possibility for 2025?

Thank you very much for the kind shout-out, Matthew. 🙂 Another great festive selection box, as ever.

I feel like what you're saying earlier, about schedules being obsolete and the like, isn't entirely accurate. While I don't disagree that in the age of streaming and on-demand, that schedules are, to many people, antiquated, I feel as if there is still an audience for structured television, even among people my age. Like how cable seems to be mutating into endless FAST channels on places like Sling and Pluto and whatever Freely's supposed to be. I don't think traditional TV is going to die within any of our lifetimes (without help from societal collapse, at least). Of course, as you said with ITV, many of the big commercial stations seem to have given up the goat when it comes to live, traditional, structured television. Most of their chips are behind stuff like Max, ITV+, Disney+, Paramount+, whatever else is next to+, etc., despite audiences not really warming to most of them. Hell, I'm supposed to be a futuristic, selfie-obsessed, tiktok dancing Gen Z type, with every streaming service imaginable, when in reality I only have one...Peacock. Most people my generation seem to be content with either watching it on tradional television or pirating it via whatever means. So, to conclude my rambling, the corporate suits seem to have it set that streaming and on demand is the future... despite that being a money pit for them, and audiences seeming to not care... that's capitalism, I suppose. Merry Christmas, Matt.

Best intro yet! To imagine the Tennant ET tribute was only a decade ago.

I always thought the idents should start on the night of the Strictly final

ITV have completely acquiesced to defeat with this year's Christmas schedule, figuring that they have no chance against BBC1 or streaming. Hell, even the Bullseye Christmas Special is a repeat from Sunday 22nd. When BBC2 and Channel 4's Christmas Day schedules end up being miles better than ITV's, you know something has gone very wrong indeed.

Smashing accent over the RTÉ Guide cover. Hope your 2025 turns out better than you think
