I got it done in six episodes! Hooray!

Now back to the Hard Sell. I'm hoping to get a lightning-quick Hallowe'en episode out by Hallowe'en itself (ie Wednesday) but that's not a promise. Then back to fortnightly Fridays in November until Christmas. And then my next big series - it's due in May, and it will be very big, and very different to anything I've made before, and I'm mentioning it now as insurance against the possibility I might chicken out altogether.

Watch and Smile - Episode 6: Collapse into Now

Saturday mornings used to belong to the children. From Tiswas to Ministry of Mayhem, from Swap Shop to Da Bungalow, Watch and Smile is a partwork history of the greatest two to three hours of the week. 6: Collapse into Now. Ant and Dec (and Cat) murder the BBC. Dani Behr fails to revive them. Celebrity chefs invade the SatAM slot and not even Holly Willoughby can stop them. A genre dies - or does it? Yes. Or doesn't it?

Well done on comprehensively covering the gamut of Saturday morning kids' programming. Weird double-take moment of episode 6: Noticing that The Saturday Show's graphics were designed by a branch of Saachi and Saachi.

Well indeed. Even so, (a) why get an advertising agency to design the branding for a kids' TV show, and (b) why accept graphics that look like they were created using Microsoft WordArt? Very odd.

The sad thing about Pokemon being the wmd it was in the SMTV L&K conflict wasn’t that they used The Simpsons, rather, the smart thing would have been to get the rights to Digimon to be the Snes to SMTV’S Megadrive (swap depending on your side of the console war, if any) but then ITV got that and then proceded to air that on SMTV during the off weeks too seemingly just to thumb it in the Beep’s eye (and then the viewers when they dropped the series one episode into Digimon Tamers in a cruel joke involving everyone slogging through the legendarily awful season 2 in a cruel remake of thier treatment of ReBoot) leaving the Beep to get monster rancher, very much a PC Engine by comparison, and only air one season of that.
