A very special episode of Blossom.

If for some reason it's not working up there, try this link.

That was heavy going, I remember you mentioning about doing it ages ago, I can see why it would have been difficult. Maybe something lighter and breezy for the next episode perhaps? 😜

Thanks for the video, Matthew. Really enjoyed it. I must say that despite its obvious cleverness, I found the Coke ad really bloody annoying until you interrupted it (thanks for that, btw). It seems to me that ad agencies working for the likes of Coca-Cola and Walmart are purely using the pandemic as a reason to show how technically brilliant they think they are. I just watch their ads and want to throw up at the smugness that comes across. I dunno... maybe that's just me. I suppose what I'm saying is that if you want to reassure people during a pandemic, you don't need rapid-fire poetic dialogue or high-concept graphics. Just say what you have to say, plainly and simply, then get out of the road so that the next brand can do the same. Damn, I should have had a career in advertising...

I've been mostly of the attitude that I already know they exist, so they don't need to ram their insincere, glib, two minute masterpiece on how they still exist and "definitely care about their customers, honest" down my throat every time a programme goes to a commercial break. If I'd have wanted a Coke or a Volvo I'd have gone to buy them already. But the simple fact of the matter is they're not worth risking infection for, and no amount of advertising is going to change that, no matter how good those adverts are. Which they're not. In a pandemic I just want adverts for products that are genuinely useful and for those other multinational capitalists to stop trying so hard to keep my attention. Otherwise don't bother. I don't have the mental energy for this crap 😂
