Your special exclusive video this month is probably the only video I will ever make about Channel 5.

Well, that clears that up why we won't see a Channel 5 in the Face, but I agree with you. In Cumbria, the signal up here was rubbish, but we could just about pick it up. I'm even sad enough to know that the first film they ever showed was Suburban Commando. :P I actually had it on tonight, for a documentary with Tony Robinson in Cumbria, but other than that, the schedule is very negligible. Back as a teen, I had it on on Friday Nights for the soft porn which ranged from Confessions of a Window Cleaner to 90's soft porn. :P

Some of the early shows were good and I liked that they put on a film every night at 9. They did also broadcast some rubbish shows too even at age 10 I thought sunset beach was terrible but a lot of people liked it.

You didn't watch any TWW , either, but you did an outstanding job on it. I'd like to see a Channel 5 In The Face, if you were up for it.

Here's some trivia for you though, when the ITC were bidding for applicants for Channel 5 in 1992, one consortium was led by TV-am dictator Bruce Gyngell, in cahoots with The Daily Telegraph and Warner Bros. There was another consortium consisting of Canadian conglomerate CanWest Global. But, how long would Channel 5 have lasted with Gyngell at the helm?

I have to say that they have produced some of the best and most innovative idents in British tv. The first set were really good as were the 2004 installations and the second "five" era (2008-11). There presentation was and has always been some of the most unique and they inspired future idents on other stations such as the 2002 itv idents by observing the 99 idents with the brick wall and they have merged advets/sponsor stings and idents into one.
