They really need to stop smashing up all the buildings. Who's paying to fix all that?

EDIT: Here's the re-reaction to the Gojo Toji fight. https://www.patreon.com/posts/93456876

Nah this show is a lot to process for everyone. I think if you get a super high level explanation of it initially then you’re doing good lol.

Lee White

Btw you missed quite an important post credits scene which will definitely be useful for the next episode.

Don'tReadMyUsername

I think for your enjoyment you should stop focusing on how the power system works and just be like, "It works because they said so", kind of like Dragon Ball.

Anonymous

I’d rather you just watch it tbh

Miguel Munuera

you missed the post credit scene!! super important

Miguel Munuera
>>122791195

but understanding the power system definitely adds so much to the enjoyment. I mean idk I didn't think it was that complex..

Miguel Munuera

Honestly, I've decided to accept that this show just might not be for you tbh. Two of the best episodes in the whole show and it didn't really seem like you enjoyed them that much, which is fair enough

le
>>122791195

I don’t agree. I think pausing and just reading would help 😭

"They love a chat about what they're doing." Yet you're always confused about what they're doing.

Ryan Borthwick

The thing is, I 100% understand what you mean in terms of having a lot going on with your life and so taking everything in could be quite difficult, especially if you're not completely in love with the series. However, coming from someone who has found it pretty easy to grasp a lot of the stuff in the jjk world (reverse cursed technique for example which confused you), these things are so important to know and if you can appreciate how in depth everything is you'll gain even more of an appreciation for it. I was expecting you to really love the gojo Vs Toji fight, the aura that gojo gives off and most importantly the animation and scenery, but I guess it didn't really hit for you which is fair enough. Also, if you feel yourself getting overwhelmed by information, I recommend pausing and reading, pausing and reading, because anyone can get lost in the dialogue if it's going at a fast pace etc. that helped me a lot.

William Dorion

Honestly man this show straight up might just not be for you and that's ok. But with your reaction to some of the best episodes of Shonen of the last few years it's clear that you would most likely fuck with shows like Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, Vinland Saga or Code Geass way more

hman70

Completely sympathize Jon, as I've said in past comments I didn't really learn to love this series until i had done a read-through of the source material where I could read each page at my own pace and attempt to process the mountains of exposition. It mostly does all make sense in its own way but it's just *all thrown at you so fast* makes pausing and rewinding a must at times especially when watching with subs. Keep watching and enjoying at your own pace, I'll try to explain a concept or two that Gojo was talking about in this episode, hopefully it helps a bit but maybe it'll just confuse the situation more haha -Cursed Energy: think of it like Electricity, it fuels all jujutsu sorcery like a power source. Just like electricity you can think of it having a positive or negative charge. Cursed Energy naturally has a negative charge. -Cursed Technique: This is like a superpower that sorcerers are born with. Gojo's Limitless, Megumi's shikigami summons, Todo's clap teleportation, etc. Not everyone is born with a technique, having one makes you powerful -Reverse Cursed Technique: Very powerful sorcerers can "multiply their cursed energy against itself" to reverse its charge (in math a negative number multiplied by a negative number becomes positive) This *positively charged cursed energy* can be used to heal people and regrow limbs So when Gojo attacks he's using some combination of the things i just talked about. His "Limitless Technique" he inherited at birth creates the forcefield around him, but when he concentrates it in a single point in space the incredible amount of mass sucks everything towards it like a black hole (This is his BLUE attack). Because he's so powerful Gojo can also do the opposite and apply *reverse cursed energy* to his limitless technique--this repels mass instead of attracting it (RED). Now finally in this scene where Gojo essentially ascends to godhood he unlocks Hallow Purple, his insane special move where he applies *both* positive and negative cursed energy into his limitless technique which according to him creates "imaginary mass" (Usually an 'I Win!' button as far as we're concerned)

I really watch anime as though I am a kid and just wanna see people beat the shut outta each other. I had to re watch the 1st season multiple times to understand. The shibuya arc is fucking amazing though and it's literally just everyone throwing hands

Matthew Earl

Megumi is his kid too, I have a hard time trying to understand too its understandable

Paper

Personally, I don’t think you’ll like the show if you keep watching. The little things that make this show great are things that annoy you. Even though the pausing in between fights to stretch 5 seconds into the whole episode is a common anime theme. I honestly think jjk’s latest episode will confuse you even more, regardless of the action. I really advice watching demon slayer. Its a simple anime to follow with beautiful animation. Even though it has its comedy aswell. But thats just anime shonen in general.

Riley Kade McKenna

Hey man there's no need to apologize for not catching everything right away. Most of us fans don't either. This series does throw a lot at you. The nice part is that there everything has its payoffs. This series doesn't leave loose-ends. That said, follow show however you want. If you have questions than ask us. Maybe make a post on here or do it formally at the end of the video. As fans I'm sure I speak for all of us when I say that we'll happily answer any questions. Then you can just enjoy the show and be reassured that you'll be filled in on stuff as you go.

>>122790538

I think it all boils down to having enough interest in something you will be interested enough to read what’s being said . I think because Jon didn’t vibe with it for the first few eps he kinda cruised through a lot of important information and then when he picked up interest in Mahito’s proper fights, it was kinda hard to catch up 🫡 especially with techniques and when shit happens what it means. A lot of those more “simpler” eps were there for a break to take in everything that had happened and prepare you for more knowledge intake

Renni .

Megumi is his son

Anonymous

Its up to you Jon but I think it might be best if you drop the show after the next episode when this arc finishes. I think the show may just not be for you and that's okay. I'd recommend something like Vinland Saga instead as it has a lot less anime "tropes" and some really amazing storytelling without huge exposition dumps.

Renni .
>>122790972

some of the stuff isn't wildly difficult. I think we have had Gojo's technique explained more or less 3 times since season 1

John Colbert

I think you will enjoy it more when we return to the present timeline with familiar characters and advance the primary plot after the next episode. The next arc is very exciting and a lot easier to digest/understand than the prequel arc you're on now.

Justin S Tuisamoa

Being honest here but if you just absorb the power system once and even just pause and take in what’s being said you’d understand everything pretty easily. The later parts of the series can get even more difficult to follow along but they do their best to explain it. This is geared toward young men so you shouldn’t treat it as though it’s like string theory. It isn’t as simple as most shonen but it’s definitely not that complicated.

Anonymous

No judgment here at all. This arc is very information heavy and everyone’s brain works differently. I had to watch a recap video of this Hidden Inventory arc on YouTube cos I got hella confused with all the info too. Though I must say, despite my initial confusion, I LOVED this episode because we get to see the making of Gojo. Recovering himself from near death and consolidating himself as the best sorcerer in the modern era. We just witnessed the making of the goat. Anywho, when it goes back to the present timeline, my guess is that you’ll be more invested again. The current arc is superb.

Mikail

haha Just try to keep watching bro it’s okay, enjoy the action that’s about to come, best action in any anime i have seen

Mike Donohue
>>122791830

The issue is that it’s too much information at once, all the time, which is pretty valid

Miguel Munuera

Really recommend you watch Arcane. Based on the type of things that you like I think you'd really enjoy it

Anonymous
>>122793474

This, just because as fans we love jjk and can watch all episodes while understanding everything, doesn’t mean Jon can. In my opinion it would be better for Jon to drop jjk for a while at least and try to watch some more straightforward shows that he will most likely enjoy more- as a viewer it is more enjoyable watching Jon react to AOT than jjk, simply because he prefers AOT and therefore can give his input on scenes without ‘complaining’ that there is too much information to process like he does in these episodes.

Anonymous

I feel like Chainsaw Man would be more up your alley. The premise is similar to JJK, but the tone is more consistent and I feel like the concepts would be easier to grasp. This show def isn't for everyone, and I think it would hit harder if you were more familiar with the standard shonen tropes. Keep up the genuine reactions homie, love the content

Omar S

Jon if this show just isn't for you and you don't enjoy watching it, I don't think many would blame you if you just moved on to a different show you might become more invested in. Although people would be mad I think if it leads to you enjoying making these videos more, it would be worth it IMO.

hman70

Want to second Tab's comment, I think you would enjoy Chainsaw Man! It's storyboarded and directed like a live-action series with a lot of influence from western media. It's got a central mystery that drags you through the story like AoT while having a more zany cast of characters like JJK but remains emotionally grounded and deals with some mature themes. Only 12 episodes are out so far but 10/10 would recommend >:D

Anonymous
>>122803255

thanks dawg! Just to add another rec, I think Dorohedoro would also be a good watch for Jon. It'll probably be just as confusing as JJK, but it'll be more intentional since it's also a huge mystery show lol. I think both of these series would strike that ridiculous/grounded/engaging balance that he seems to enjoy in AoT.

Repsol
>>122792507

Jon mate you absolutely need to get on Code Geass. Elite show.

Mike Donohue

Honestly Jon’s next show should be Arcane. Am I alone in thinking Jon isn’t going to like MOST shonen? AOT is such an anomaly in the genre, while Arcane is a beautiful and mature piece of storytelling on the same level of AOT

Mordehai Dahan

As much as I love this show I honestly don't know if it makes sense for u to continue if you don't really understand what's going on. The significance of all the different abilities really boils down to being the most essential part of the show and what makes jjk so special. Every character and their abilities go hand in hand and if you don't really understand their ability you wont be able to fully grasp their character. However with that being said I really do appreciate your reactions and opinions as they always are genuine and that's why I'm a fan. I would love for you to feel the same love for this show that I do but I think to do so you might need a basic explanation of everything going on which I would be happy to provide. I just wish that this was done for you earlier so that you would enjoy some of these episodes to the fullest extent like I did. I also think that potentially rewatching some episodes in English dub might really help you understand certain concepts better.

Armando

Listen it just seems you don’t understand or you don’t like power systems. All the information about techniques and cursed energy is important and not that hard to understand, if you are willing to learn and understand it, yes it’s a lot of information but that’s part of the show!

Armando
>>122803132

I think he should just drop this show. He doesn’t really get it, which in turn seems like he isn’t enjoying the actual world of JJK.

Omar S
>>122803132

He might WANT to keep going with the show, in that case he should go for it. The point of my comment is that most of us would be watching either way, I think at least.

Cross

This show isn't like attack on titan, you don't have to understand every single thing these guys do. You only need to understand the important things that are CLEARLY important, not an explaination of skill move on how "clapping makes the wind shake to the point that it teleports the other person" not everyone should care about that. This show is just pure action entertainment.

Kelli Atkins

Jon you def can’t watch HxH you will be confused as hell lmaooo

Kelli Atkins
>>122790538

Everybody’s brain does work diff I just don’t feel it’s a hard thing to grasp whether I’m interested or Not…but that’s just me lol

Kelli Atkins
>>122790972

Exactly I don’t feel like the explanation is difficult. I can see it being a lot of info just not difficult info

Matthew Valentine

It’s all good if you’re not invested enough to keep watching but something that I really think would help with the information overload moments is to pause for even a second and re-read something whenever it doesn’t click right away. Trying to track every bit of information in the dialog on the first run might as well be impossible for non manga readers. This is a show I had to watch 3x to even understand its basic premise cause I was so confused on the first run through but at the end of the day it is about the fighting and abilities so they can’t frame entire episodes around why certain things interact the way they do etc. If something doesn’t make sense, run it back 10 seconds and watch it again. Sometimes that type of “huh?” moment IS the intended reaction of the author during a particular scene or reveal. The tone of aot is it wants you to feel like a genius. It wants you to put pieces together where the author won’t. The tone of JJK is: “look how much about my magical power world you don’t understand yet, I will give you the pieces myself when I decide you’re ready” I promise we don’t mind running some confusing bit of dialog back if it means you’ll have more final thoughts about what you’re seeing.

Matthew Valentine

And yeah as others have said HxH is jjk on steroids. So I would recommend feeling like you could comfortably watch this without it being too much before attempting something in that vein. Just my opinion.

Matthew Valentine

Also for what it’s worth, jjk is around my 20th anime series I’ve consumed. I’m able to see and recognize tropes that other series have had their own interpretations on but I totally understand how jarring it can be to be thrown into these types of tropes with no context. The only thing I can say is if you keep watching you will keep receiving payoff in similar ways to how season 1 connected everything, but on the biggest scale yet.

Anthony Lujan

I think full metal alchemist brotherhood is better suited for you

Petter Virtanen

If you were to drop JJK entirely I would absolutely love for you to watch Fullmetal alchemist brotherhood. The characters can be a bit silly and anime-ish at times BUT that makes the emotional and gut-wrenching moments hit like a truck. I almost never cry when watching stuff but last time I rewatched it I shed several tears lol (IYKYK). Also, the powersystem is incredibly intuitive and easy to understand as opposed to JJK which can be a bit much at times imo.

Patrik Žauhar

Some of you are telling him to check out Demon Slayer, but i think the only two things that he would maybe like about that show would be the fight scenes and the animation, and i am saying this as a pretty big fan of that show.

Petter Virtanen
>>122820203

Also, I think most of us wouldn't mind if you didn't finish shows everytime. Ofc it should be the goal, but if you don't love it there's no reason to keep watching. It's not like an album which is only an hour long, a whole anime is a lot lol.

Justin S Tuisamoa

I think you might enjoy Vinland Saga more. It's more grounded in reality and meant for an older audience. Unless you aren't interested in historical stories I really don't know just a suggestion

James

I personally would love for you to watch Arcane. It’s based on the character of League of legend and it won numerous awards. It’s super easy to follow and the art style is incredible

James
>>122803255

Unfortunately dorohedoro would have to a Patreon exclusive since it would bring very little views on YouTube

James
>>122792747

He would throw a fit when he meets Zenitsu. Most annoying character of all time 😂

James
>>122792667

Unfortunately a lot of it nuanced and in the anime it flys by to fast to understand. The manga makes it easier

Luciano Quiej

lol yea man all that stuff flys over my head. I just watch it for the fights. Wait for the upcoming episodes… more talking… then BOOM!

Bryan Diaz

I think your frustration with the amount of information thrown at you is very valid. I also don’t think you actually need to remember it all. I’ve watched and read so much of this series and I still don’t fully get it. If you feel like you’re not invested in the show and want to watch something else, don’t blame you and will continue to support you!

Nicolas Guevara

Love the reactions, had similar feelings when I watched season 1 of this show. Loved the action but the story didn't really come together for me until 0 and season 2. I will support whatever decision you make, and if you're not feeling this one, no worries at all. Huge fan of your content, and excited to see you continue AOT and other shows going forward. Happy Holidays!

Braxton Brown

The shit aint hard to pay attention too, you just dont give a fuck about this world or its lore in any capacity. They've repeatedly talked about a main character from season 1 aside from Gojo, and you dont even know the name or recognize him. They even showed Nanami on screen with his name in English and you didn't recognize him and all through season 1 you said he was your favorite. Just drop the show man.

Kelli Atkins
>>122813308

I mean I would love to be wrong.. I would love for him enjoy the wonders of HxH…and since he’s figured out that he needs to slow down/ rewind sometimes to follow along maybe that method will help with watching HxH.
