CJ Bingman

I HAVENT WATCHED YET BUT YES JON YES

Am

AHHHHHHHH

CJ Bingman

literally the best episode of television possibly ever made

Anonymous

Best episode of tv ever.

Matthew Valentine

Inching closer to the finale. The flow of this show without having to wait multiple years in between seasons is actually crazy.

21Kris

AAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH

hman70

These last couple arcs every time you’ve said something like “it all keeps coming back to determinism vs free will” I’d be like hahahaha just wait my friend- and then twirl my moustache like a movie villain

Cillian Doherty

Haven’t watched yet but this is the episode I’ve been waiting for… one of my favourite scenes in anything ever in this ep

Eddie P

LETS GOOOO

Anonymous

Hands down one of the greatest episodes of anything I’ve watched

Joab Taylor

The outburst from grisha after he’s done the deed is incredible voice acting, makes me tear up everytime

PO

Notice where Eren is standing when Grisha sees Zeke the first time? He's seeing Zeke through Eren's memories. Eren is standing behind Grisha, looking at both of them.

Suave Player

This whole time it was Eren who forced his father to kill the Reiss Family, I knew this scene would make your mouth open, and that’s one of the lot of things he saw when he kissed Historia’s hand, but next episode is when more hell breaks loose 🙃

Anonymous

This and the next episode have my two favorite moments in the show

Marquez Arroyo

Nah, that truly is an impossibly good episode.

Demo

Been waiting for this one and the next episode for MONTHS! We're finally here

Kristian Mock

Jon please watch 2 episodes at a time you’re killing me. The next episode springboards off this one in an explosive way.

Paper

Just for clarity. Because the attack titan can see flashes of their future inhibiters, if eren looks at Zeke, it becomes a memory, so that is why grisha see’s nothing in the past but when eren looks at zeke grisha gets a flash of eren’s memory. That is why each time he sees zeke the camera shows that eren is looking directly at zeke. Making ‘the impossible possible’ purely because of the attack titans trait.

Ryan

I mean what else can you really do but laugh at the perfection

Daaylen Watson

I can’t wait for next episode! The answers continue to flood!

Tristan Caby

The greatest plot twist in the history of cinema imo. 10/10 episode gives me chills everytime

ningsplushie

this show has always been great but it was only when i watched this episode that i finally understood that what i was watching was greatness on a whole other level. i dont think anything will ever be able to top this masterpiece for me.

Max Power

All I can ever do watching the reveal at the end is laugh, it's impossibly good

Max Power

Just remember Jon, Eren saw all of this happen when he kissed Historias hand

Anonymous

This episode is one of the best for sure and while this show is one of the best to ever do it, for future shows i would try not to compare them all to AoT because it will only lead to disappointment lol. Just try to take every show for what it is would be my advice👍🏻

Anonymous

Hopefully that scene when the “Owl” told Grisha to save Armin and Mikasa before sending him off into the walls makes more sense. Its like you said, its always been there.

Ramzi Shaban

Watching zeke in pain the Grisha was manipulating Eren only to find out Eren was the one doing the manipulating on him for his plan was the biggest plot twist of the series 😭

Anonymous

I love that he says this is mind-blowing 5 seconds before the mind-bowing part

Russell Gambardella

Haha, I loved you simply laughing in disbelief upon witnessing perfection. Others have mentioned it, but I can’t help but praise the subtle brilliance and attention to detail of the shots and angles used in this episode. Grisha can perceive Zeke through Eren’s memories and thus his POV. It’s such a cool sequence and shot we get following Eren looking at the picture of Zeke; Grisha murmurs Zeke’s name then is shocked to see Zeke as an “old, bearded man,” and we get this shot from the perspective of Eren, who is behind Grisha, of Grisha’s back and Zeke in front of him, with Grisha vaguely looking around in disbelief. There’s more of this throughout the episode and details like this is what makes rewatching and revisiting this series so rewarding. I also love how you also know you won’t simply be “done” with AOT upon finishing the series. Looking forward to the rest of this wild ride and whatever is to come next!

Anonymous

What is there to say after an episode like this though 😂 the attack titan letting Grisha see future memories, in turn letting him see the memories of Eren walking through Grisha’s own memories to make him kill the royal family, ALL in front of Zeke who gave Eren this opportunity will never not be one of the darkest mindfucks ever imo

PO

Eren sees the future when he kisses Historia's hand because he saw Grisha's memories of the visions Grisha saw that were shown to him by future Eren. Future Eren sent memories to Grisha, and then Grisha's memories of these visions were seen by present Eren. Love how Eren manipulated Eren to make sure that he manipulates Eren

stevetar

Craziest uno reverse I’ve ever seen lol

Owen

Genuinely the best piece of fiction ever created

david ammerman

Lol your laugh at the to be continued screen made me spit my beer out 😂

david ammerman

4x20 combined with 4x21 is my favorite piece of media story etc

Ryan Payne

It was Eren’s will. All of it, was Eren’s will. Back to Grisha and back to Kruger and further. “If you want to save Mikasa and Armin, you must complete your mission.”Kruger Episode 59

James

Truly Peak Fiction

Ture

This is legitimately the greatest plot twist in all of fiction. Despite how terrible I feel this show ended, the lead up to the final section was simply astonishing

Anonymous

Vinland Saga is on the same philosophical level, maybe even more so. HIGHLY recommend it after you wrap on AOT

Just in case you meant the ending was terrible: The ending was foreshadowed throughout the entire series. Idk what you expected but there was no other ending than what happened. Every plot hole was covered, every question answered, every character development perfectly ended. Literally one of the most solid endings to a tv show ever, which is almost impossible as we have seen countless times. If you think it was "terrible" because you felt sad or frustrated, you didn't understand the point, you're supposed to feel those feelings. I can't explain any more without spoiling anything, but most of the reasons people criticized the ending has a very logical explanation and most change their minds after it's been presented to them. I'd love to discuss more to understand your thoughts and feelings somewhere else or after Jon finishes the show.

Ture
>>128279525

I've had extensive discussions about this with anyone willing to discuss it lol. AoT was my favorite story of all time. And no matter how you try to rationalize it, the ending makes no logical sense. It's really that simple lol.

opinions people we all have opinions just let Jon enjoy the show

Aiscrim

In short, Eren convinced his father to do it, that's what he saw when he kissed History's hand, among many other memories from the future that will happen.

Aiscrim
>>128279866

That's why Vinland Saga is 1 and AOT on 2. After I saw that first season is just the prologue and the actually story start in season 2, I couldn't stay like this, and I actually read the manga, I can't wait for season 3 to appear, and with season 4, I think it will pass AOT in the chapter "STORY".

Aled James

I think you'd enjoy Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood

Anonymous
>>128279525

Man I understand this perspective, however without spoiling it for our reactor: I watched the series as a whole 3-4 times now and it is genuinely one of the greatest works of fiction that exists from top til the bottom. The entire ending came down to a thematically driven narrative that if not fully understood would be hard to stomach. Though ultimately you may have full well understood it and disliked it which is also fully your opinion and fair and concise.

>>128279525

Nah it makes complete sense ur just mad its not the way u want lmao

Armando

Jon’s face when Grisha drops the knife 😂

Roberto

Eren Jaegers been playing 400 iq chess matches the entire show and we didn’t even know it

>>128279525

wait nvm I deleted my comment cus I realised its a spoiler if u saw it erase from ur memories

Katame

Full metal alchemist brotherhood should be next anime

Mike Donohue

Hunter x Hunter is the only anime that's come close to this for me in terms of depth of theme, world building, crazy hype moments, and deep characters you care about

nym
>>128303200

I agree with you and I would also add vinland saga

newoga

So great. Jon and Zeke had the same surprised look on their faces for much of that ending. This is definitely one of my favorite episodes/moments to see reactions from and when I watched it for the first time I was blown away. Seeing Freida (visibly struggling and doubting her actions) being forced into the king's will with Grisha (also visibly struggling and doubting his actions) being forced into the Eren's will is masterful. Up until this point of the story, we never considered that Attack Titan holders could also be "enslaved" by the will of another the same way the royal blood lineage was with the Founding Titan.

Scooby

this is my favorite episode of any piece of film/television ever. personal opinion of course but I’m sure you can see why

Anonymous

this episode and Ozymandias from breaking bad are two of the greatest episodes of TV ever in my opinion

Dwob

priceless ep, priceless reaction let's fricken go

Sean Carroll
>>128279525

opinions can be wrong, especially if they cant provide a detailed explanation as to why they believe something to be bad. Ive encountered so many ending haters who just plainly refuse to explain their reasoning and these are the people i choose to ignore because their opinion is meaningless without explanation

swigsyy

the peak fiction meme gets thrown about a lot - but this is truly peak

Dominique

This definitely has to be my favorite episode
