Archive link change (Patreon)

WhatI’m changing how the archive links work. First of all Im combining everything into one link. Second, when you click the archive link in the post, you’ll be asked to authenticate with Patreon. You can read more about how this works in this post. If you’re an active patron, a one-hour limited link will be generated for you, and you’ll be redirected to Dropbox. No more expired links. Easy peasy!

WhyFirst of all, for easier access. I kept forgetting to update the links, and people had trouble finding the archive. Now I’ll be able to pin the post and direct patrons more easily. It’s also to fight automatic scraping of archive links. And yes, I know piracy is unavoidable, but that doesn’t mean I should make it easier for them - or stop fighting for your rights.

With this new tool, everything will be automated, and only the right people will have access.WhenThe new link is live. You can find it in the Collections / Info folder.I’ll keep the old way of accessing the archive for a little while, just in case. But I really encourage you to use the authorization link - I want to make sure it works for everyone. After that, the archive will only be accessible through the oAuth tool.I plan more changes on how archive work and structured in the future, so stay tuned!
