Dev Log 2 Windlink 1.21.11/26.2 + SoundLink 26.2 (Patreon)
Content
This last week has been absolutely jam packed with chasing bugs, removing bloat, optimizing and some shader side fixes. However most importantly I've been feature building before the bugs were noted and then after they were squashed. Download Versions 1.1.20: 26.2 - 26.1.2 - 1.21.11
What's New
New Mod Compatibility
Fancy World Animations (PR Approved support available in the next update)
Seasons
Seasons run by default, and Serene Seasons merged my season API PR.
Winter: snow rides the wind, boots kick snow of the ground and gusts kick up some snow as well. (Frosting mechanic is in progress and extremely ugly but promising at the moment)
The wind has weather: calm spells, gust times, windier peaks, a seasonal direction and feel.
Fall/Autumn shed more leaves.
WindLink
Leaves have more realistic weight and a dial for how fast they fall.
Leaves land near their branch, float, gather at shorelines, and get kicked up lightly when running past.
Downwash from birds and bees.
Physics Mod cloth and Grassier Grass fields ride the shared wind. (Grassier Grass has no dev contact for full compatibility.)
MCWIND Basic reloads in a second, not minutes, and flags a stale pack.
Early stage and bones of the WindLink frosting mechanic for texture artists and labPBR based textures. Think snow building in the lows from the normal maps. Custom textures and textured vanilla fallbacks will eventually be provided.
More intelligent ventilation was worked on then put on hold. The wind still likes to sneak in in funky different ways. For the most part the wind is much softer and calmer in a sealed box and subsequently draftier with more holes on the box. Cross ventilation drives a stronger draft.

EuphoriaPatches Work
Snow on the treetops sways with the leaves it is sitting on.
Fallen leaves float on water and ride the waves.
A flier passing overhead presses the foliage underneath it.
Fixed a major compiling issue caused by my own faulty documentation.
Player and entity wakes on particles, and foliage.
Floating Leaves Feature Euphoria Patches:
Particle based snowy weather and snow welding to the leaves:
SoundLink
A new Link mod? Yes and I'm really excited. This mod get's me out of the house and away from the computer, with the seasons changing I think I'll have plenty of audio to capture. SoundLink utilizes the same data conventions that WindLink uses through PlunderEngine. It allows for a proper response to wind sounds, leaf collision sounds and audio directionality with seamlessness. All the audio recordings are 100% made by nature and I. What does the future of SoundLink look like? The goal is to create immersion in a new and beautiful way. A decade ago one of my favorite mods was the original 2011 MAtmos mod. It felt like such an innovate way to play and add life to Minecraft.
My plan is not to replace Sound Physics Remastered but utilize it as a library for what the sounds will do when the world makes them and how they get to your ear.
SoundLink improves on the premise and remains unique in that it utilizes the features of the PlunderEngine data to produce realistic and terrain aware sounds that are unique to the playthrough and world. The mod will have a fully hand made and field recorded soundpack that makes every leaf in game add to the audible atmosphere. This is a standout feature compared to how the other sound mods create audio events. Here is a sneak peak of a very rudimentary build of sound link.
Unmastered audio, wear head phones for the directional experience. It's not much but It's a solid foundation.Thank you all, and thank you to The MilkMan for being my first supporter!
This project is becoming a second full-time job for me. I spend an inordinate amount of time on this project and your support means the world to me and keeps me motivated. Please consider subscribing to the Patreon it's highly motivating and it get's me a redbull or a coffee when I'm really deep in VSC.I look forward to the continuation of this build and I am eager to hear your suggestions and recommendations. I'm always open to adding new mod support within reason.
