The action continues! This set was quite a refresher for myself on drawing dynamic scenes, definitely getting a bit rusty here (also probably why it took so long). I hope you enjoy it as much as I struggled to draw it :)Edit: I also just realized there is a continuity error in frame 2 as her gloves disappeared, but just for this one I let it slide. It was really hard to otherwise balance the gesture since a gloved hand would be less visible/weighty. Definitely need to plan better next time!(Process rundown will be in end of month video as always)

Another set of masterpieces! Let's go!

I love the second one with the hand. nice details! also the giant claw surprised me. i think thats the first picture that depicts an actual opponent, like ever, am i wrong? and i love paintings wich combine very close detail, like rock/tree bark/skin/cloth with a midground and background thats further away. I think there's a lot of potential when you combine all the distances with an appropriate level of detail. That's definitely what i am going to try when i get to the painting part in my project.

Stunning series. The atmosphere has gotten more and more tense and I can see her developing a more serious expression. The use of focus and blur to create motion is very impressive, the level of detail is so high and I find these pieces full of life and spirit. I LOVE the concept of the hand being slashed in half. Aesthetically it looks so daunting and gives a sense of grandeur. These are such a treat to view - thank you for sharing them!

Hello, your paintings are always marvelous! I'm new on Patreon and was just wondering if you're still doing Q&A's, because I'd like to submit a question. Some time ago I saw that you did the book cover for Jade Fire Gold by June C.L. Tan and it's so epic, so I wanted to ask if you have any tips for doing cover art/art for books in general and what was your process for that cover specifically, because I'm really interested in book art related things. Anyway, thank you so much for creating such inspiring pieces ♥️!

So much goodness in these images. Can't wait to see the process videos. Someone should make glowing earrings. Maybe it can be one of your stretch goal goodies for your next book? =P Just a suggestion! =)

Thank you very much, it's a bit of a new area of exploration for me honestly, so I'm glad it at least worked out on a certain level!

Definitely thinking about prints!

Thank you! Regarding the JFG cover and book covers in general, the process is usually to go through the brief provided by publisher/author, produce several sketch options (ideally include a rough grayscale to indicate general lighting) and then proceed with the option the client selects. Big tip here is to never sketch something you don't want to or can't draw to a full finish just to pad out the numbers, because the client might just like it alot. Depending on the client, you may want to provide regular updates or just update them once the piece is nearing finish, for any final adjustments/request, caveat for the latter is that you should stick really closely to the sketch to avoid deviating too much. The upside is that you get to work on the piece continuously without the feedback waiting times that come with constant updates. Once the piece is done, job's complete! For this specific job, I also followed this pretty standard process, provided updates whenever I felt substantial progress has been made and took direction/correction from the publisher!

Thank you! It means a lot to hear that :)

It was really a huge pain to draw that one shot!

Thank you, process video will be up very soon! As for the glowing earrings, that's definitely really ambitious!
