It was nice to revisit an overcast-style of lighting along side more fantasy themes! The armor and pose took a while to figure out, but I'm glad how it managed to come together in the end. The BG was also quite a bit of a challenge - I internally debated whether to draw it fully, but honestly ran out of energy to take on the daunting task of planning and implementing proper architecture in the middle of the workflow. Still, it was fun to draw armor and knights! As always, the process will be explained and discussed in video at the end of the month!

Still high quality as always

I think she wears a western armor with some eastern details? That's really impressive, I love the all-yellow color schemes, feels warm in the snowstorm, thanks for this awesome work!

I might be biased but your fantasy pieces appeal to me so much more, this is freaking gorgeous. Thank you for the great pieces, very excited for the process video this month!

This is what I would have comissioned, if I could have comissioned anything. Awesome! However I noticed that there is barely any space between her hair and the edge of the image. Also both the dogs are kind of cut off by the edges. If it was me I would have framed it a bit differently, just my opinion. But regardless, thanks for diving into one of my favorite subject matters!

2026-09-18 10:00 I'm speechless, this is so cool in so many ways!! Any chance of a landscape fantasy piece again? I'd kill to have something like this as a wallpaper

Hi Guweiz! I've joined the discord a couple of days back, could I get the Patron role? My username is jabberwocky#7606! Also, what tips/classes/suggestions do you have for really beginner artists T-T I've been stuck trying to find good art resources online in trying to learn how to draw tbh

guweiz

Thank you! I thought the yellow provided a heavier fantasy touch (like a colorful squire's garb), compared to the usual black, and it also blended well with the gold parts too as a bonus

guweiz

I really enjoy fantasy style art too - so much opportunity to add and design more details. It can be hard to do with more "mundane" clothing in a way, but maybe it's just my inexperience !

I appreciate it! It was a tough decision as well - having depicted the crow fairly centrally last time, I wanted to get the pups in frame more as well + a more expansive scene in general. In the end due to time (and energy constraints) I decided to focus more heavily on the character.

guweiz

Thank you! It's a fun time for me to explore as well

guweiz

It's tougher than I thought! I'm trying hard to figure out some compositions that take unique advantage of the landscape format

Added! It's tough to recommend exactly without knowing too much - I always recommend Framed Ink as a great introduction to composition and understanding the concept and idea of what goes into a piece to make it work. Otherwise as a complete beginner, I think it's also important to simply get some hours under your belt, it would help immensely in figuring out what direction you want to explore in

Thank you!! And honestly, I do have an idea which direction or like the style of how I would eventually like to draw--the problem I would suppose is knowing of where exactly to start. I've done some mimicking of sketches and drawings, but without any of those sketches i simply don't have the skill nor the ability to draw something out of nothing xD at least yet. So I was trying to figure out as well as a complete beginner some resources I could start with. I'll definitely take a look at Framed Ink tho!

I'm happy to hear that you do enjoy doing fantasy because it is what drives my art passion! I hope you continue doing more of what you enjoy! (more fantasy please :P)
