Starting next week I'll be working on getting all harvestables fixed and updated. I'm also going to take a look to see if I can create a quick fix for the issue with not being able to care for harvestables when they're not in season.

I'd like to let everyone share their feelings about my harvestables and how they function. If you have suggestions please let me know in the comments below. This will be the last major update to harvestables (outside of any necessary patch updates) so if there's something you'd like to see added or changed, this is the perfect time to let me know! :)

My plans so far:

The main thing I want to add to harvestables with this update is to make the garden effects optional. There's a few ways I think I can do this but I need to play around with it a little before I decide. If you have suggestions let me know!

I love the idea of making the effects optional if it’s doable. I like to have the butterflies and the bees in some playthroughs but sometimes it just looks odd in a cyberpunk city aesthetic. It would be nice to turn them off and on as needed. I’m so happy with how things work right now that the only thing I can think of mentioning is that it would be nice if the wheat and sugar production amounts were flipped or equalized. With one of each plant I always seem to end up with way more sugar than flour, even when I keep the plants indoors. Or even making the sugar a spring/summer only while the wheat is a fall/winter. Just a thought.

Is it possible to make custom seed packs so I can get your harvestables easier

Jane

If there's a way to make your harvestables compatible with Carl's Fertilize and Evolve All mods, that would be helpful!

Brittany

I absolutely love how you take the time to make the foliage of the harvestables each look different and have different seasons. I appreciate your effort so much!

Jane already said my suggestion: The Evolve all. I like your harvestables. I do wish that the mod I use to have the plants all year would work with them, but that's all right. :)

BrazenLotus

I will definitely look at creating a better balance when I get to the wheat and sugar. Thanks for letting me know 😊

BrazenLotus

Yes! I will see if I can throw this in with the harvestables update.

BrazenLotus

I will take a look and see what I can do 😊

BrazenLotus

I will take a look and see if I can make it compatible with Carl's mod. If that's not feasible, I'll see what I can do to make it easier to evolve multiple plants.

Shannon Criswell

No matter how it comes out I love your mods and plants.

I was about to suggest exactly the same thing. i almost only use YOUR harvestables and gardening is def a non-negotiable activity for me in every game :D :D

For me, there are two suggestions/questions I have. One, is there a reason that Rice, Peppercorn, and Lavender can't be put in refrigerators? I wouldn't mind being able to put them in there just to make it easier when going to craft something using them. Two, I don't know if this is a problem on my end or not, but I've been having the old EA issue with your trees where when I load into a lot, some of the trees revert back to the newly planted state. But outside of that, I love your creations. I've got a massive greenhouse where I grow all the EA and your harvestables. Your content really brings the game alive for me. <3

I'm relatively new to your mods but went on a super spree and downloaded everything. Absolutely fantastic mods and I love your website. I just discovered that you can harvest individual heads of corn for yeast and I thought this was such a cool feature. I'm not sure if more of your crops can be harvested in such a way but I'd love to see more of that in gameplay.

Hello and welcome! If you have Cheesemaking installed, and your sim is a certain level or is a Botanist, they can collect cultures from different types of harvestables or spoiled food. Maybe I can do more features in an add-on specifically for Botanists? If anyone is interested and has suggestions for this idea let me know!

BrazenLotus

These aren't able to be put in the fridge because they're similar to flowers and herbs - they only go in flower storage. If the other issue you mentioned is because of my harvestables it will be fixed when I update them. If you're still having the issue after that, let me know, and I'll look a little deeper into it.

Tee Rexy

Thanks, happy to be here! I do have Cheesemaking installed and have been looking for spoiled items to harvest from but I haven't had my sim explore what's possible with the Botanist career. I'll give it a whirl and if anything comes to mind I'll certainly give you a shout. Love your mods, keep up the fab work!

Ahhh, make sense. Cheers for the answer! Another issue I've noticed is my olive and cocoa trees (which happen to be two of the trees that revert back to newly planted state) aren't producing fruit even when I've forced them back to "blossoming" state and stay on the lot for a few days in the row. Am I doing something wrong or is that an issue? I also want to report a "bug" (can't think of an appropriate term haha), but the notebook entry for Buttermilk, under the "Preserving Info" section lists in the info for tea leaves.

Hi, I want to firstly thank you for the amazing variety and complexity of your mods, I totally agree it has enriched our gameplay experience and I am sure the upcoming updates will match that! That being said, I do want to suggest something, hoping it is possible/agreeable and I am not writing this too late: I would love if there were more ways for us to feed harvestables to our livestock directly, without creating the animal treats, for example by hand feeding them or refilling the shed and animal feeder with other grains and harvestables such as wheat, corn and barley, apples, bananas, potatoes and sweet potatoes, carrots, pumpkin etc beneficial for livestock. I don't have a very clear idea on how to implement it and what would make it easier from a modding perspective, maybe you can make it so certain harvestables simply allow livestock animals to eat from them, if reachable, just like with the wild prairie grass or maybe we can collect food scraps in the future when prepping ingredients for cooking or thanks to the waste not lot trait that we can then use as feed for livestock. Also, it would be nice if your salt crystals could be used by livestock to lick (for cows, horses and goats). Anyway, thank you again and excuse my excessive rambling, long story short anything that would add to the current options in game when it comes to feeding/treating livestock will be greatly appreciated!

BrazenLotus

These are some great ideas!!! Let me see what I can do. If I can't fit these into the next update I may add a mini-mod for this.

I am humbled by and grateful for the fact that you are seriously taking this into consideration, please take your time and find the method that best works for you and makes more sense overall, thank you!!!
