I thought I'd post a discussion to see if there are any other garden effects you all would like added OR if you'd like some adjustments to the effects I've already done. Garden effects are things like spawning butterflies, sims getting buffs when near plants, or plants drying out faster because they require more water.

Before you post your suggestions, please keep in mind that I'll be adding a way to make effects optional so you can turn them off if you want 🙂

Let me know what you think in the comments below!

Not so much a suggestion for something new, but I do see the effects in my game all happening at the same time. Maybe there is a way to fix this and I am just unaware. But it would be much more pleasant and look more natural if the effects didn't all happen at the same time. Right now my garden seems to be hosting a synchronized flying competition.

🤣 I will definitely take a look at that.

I don't mind having the bugs spawning. I love it. Buffs, but for things such as flowers. Not all of them because I end up with several buffs in my gardens. I hadn't thought about the drying out faster. Watermelons need more water. That would be awesome! When someone is off the grid, if you ever do succulents and cacti, they could be a water source as that's where you'd find water in the desert.

I love how some of the plants are seasonal, but maybe expanding the growth a little - like if the weather is right the plant grows, like those which like heat growing during those high temp waves that can happen in spring or fall, for example. I wonder if there's a plant that would LOVE to grow in the deepest cold, like a magic plant?

I live in the Appalachian Mountains on the US East Coast and we have wild red spider lillies that are sometimes called magic lillies because they can bloom well into autumn. Not the deepest cold, but it is a real-world similarity.

I mentioned in a past post about how fun finding ingredients for other skills in the harvestables was, e.g. heads of corn being used as yeast cultures. I'd love to see more of these throughout other plants- maybe if there is a heatwave you'll have a chance to harvest dried rose petals or other ingredients that work with the drying rack or again in said heatwave you might have a chance to find cured tea leaves. Things like that. Another feature I enjoy is when the mice/rats take over the wheat crop and you might already have this feature but I don't own a cat on my current household with your crops but I thought it would be thoroughly entertaining if your dog or cat chased the pest away and maybe a mood buff for "a proud pet owner" or "happy to have pets on our farm". I'll say it again I'm so thrilled with your mods and it's been such a lovely addition to my gameplay. Keep up the incredible work!

i seriously love collecting the insects, I wish there were more that would pop up. I also love that certain plants keep the bad bugs away, etc. It really makes gardening feel so much more authentic
