Your reaction when you see it's the kid is hilarious! Great episode. The mom is a badass. She was so calm and emphatic with the kid, she saved her children and herself. Oh, and Ellie, my god, that girl can't catch a break!! I mean come on, the girl has already so many traumas, you're gonna place her with an abusive family too???? The system is broken on so many levels. She deserves a little bit of peace.

The mom in this is Mare Winningham. I recognize her from St. Elmo's Fire. She is amazing in this, keeping her kids safe and almost talking the kid out of hurting her. That kid should never be released. They called him a budding sociopath and there is no rehab for that sort of person. He will always be too dangerous to be allowed out in society.
