Mathilde BESSON

The overall sadness of this episode, I can't... Btw, the actress who played the unsub did an amazing job. What a performance.

I don't think the killing was helping her grieve, they were a means to an end. She wanted a gun to get her ex-husband to sit with her and only killed when she was challenged. I think in her perfect run of today there would've been only one or possibly two deaths... herself and her ex On another note, while I'd like to believe I could stick in the relationship, I can't say for certain that I could. Sometimes the only way to move on is with a fresh start but everyone is different and I can also see how people would get strength from shared grief.

When my daughter was 5, one of her classmates passed away in a accident. The girl was a twin, which made it even harder. The surviving twin still has trouble sometimes with celebrating her birthday. And, it did destroy the marriage too. The parents handled their grief in very different ways and really couldn't handle the other's grief at the same time. If the mom hadn't had the surviving child to keep her here, I'm not sure she would have survived losing her daughter. Losing a parent, grandparent or spouse is hard.... but you are never supposed to outlive your own child. Obviously, this doesn't excuse what the mother in this episode did. But, having watched a friend go through it.... I do understand how completely shattered she was by the death of her child. This unsub needed to be in a psych ward, with meds and intensive therapy to help her. When her ex got the restraining order.... maybe he should have pushed for a psych eval for her. Even if he couldn't personally be around her, he could have helped her by getting her help.
