I'm with Reid one this one. If a friend come to your house crying for 10 weeks, you tell him the truth about something like that. I know they wanted to protect Emily, but the truth is no one on the team would have compromise her safety or anything like that. I don't know how she could watch him grief like that and still kept it from him. I would be so pissed off. But Reid is such a sweatheart, he can't blame her for too long. I love angry Reid though, like last episode against the senator, and here. He's so calm, cold and silent. We don't see that side of him very often

In this episode, I hate that they don't give time to Reid to just be angry. He has every right to be, even if he understands why they did it. He was in such distress that he almost started using again. I also hate Emily's line, saying that she "mourned the lost of 6 friends", like she mourned more than Reid. I'm sure she felt sad, but at least she knew they were alive and she had hope of seeing them again. Reid didn't. I wish they would have normalized his feeling instead of making it seem like he was overreacting.

As others have said, I'm on team Reid with this one. As for the sentencing, I don't want to bring up my view of the death penalty but I'll give you two arguments in this case between the two circumstances you gave yourself in the ending. 1) It's shown he suffered from the mental issues from birth but survived like 40 years without killing. His illness wasn't a cause of his killings so it shouldn't be considered in the sentencing. (a point for the death penalty) 2) It's not often we get an unsub with these characteristics. It might be worth the institution for research purposes if only to give the team more insight into identifying, tracking, and apprehending future unsubs.

Wanda Did Nothing Wrong

Fun fact; the actress who plays Tammy is the voice for Princess Yue on Avatar the Last Airbender

Freya Hemingway

Cool! Thanks for sharing that piece of trivia! I LOVE Avatar the Last Airbender! Fantastic show! A “kids’”show that actually remembers that children are intelligent. Both emotionally and mentally. It’s one of my go to comfort shows. 🫶

In terms of sentencing, for me it comes down to: Did he know what he was doing? Did he know it was wrong? Was he aware of the pain and harm he was causing? I would answer Yes to all of those questions. He was intelligent enough to know he could use his disability to manipulate people. He felt pleasure in inflicting serious harm. He enjoyed the pain and suffering of the women he was torturing. He got off on it so much that he raped them. He hid it from the people around him. He didn’t feel bad or guilty at all. Even when it was his own niece. He seemed to actually enjoy it more. In my opinion, he knew what he was doing. I have very conflicted feelings about the death penalty, but this one is clear to me. He is no longer human and deserves to be put down. I wish we could make him understand the suffering he inflicted. There’s a gun in Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy that can make the person you shoot understand and actually feel the way you’re feeling. I often wish it existed and would definitely use it on people like him.
