In this 6th monthly devlog, we’ll dive into everything I worked on throughout April. As mentioned in the previous devlog, this month was fully dedicated to finalizing the Prologue and polishing the core systems as much as possible. And I’m excited to announce that...

The Prologue Playtest will go live on May 4th!

Patrons subscribed to the First Dreamers or Children of the Primordial Night tiers will be able to participate in the playtest.

A dedicated post will be published at release, including the private download link.

So... What's in the Prologue, really?

The Prologue is designed to introduce players to the main storyline, key characters, the overall tone of the game, and its core sandbox systems. Everything has been carefully crafted to smoothly immerse you into the world of Nightmares of the Moon.

Playtest Details:

Around 1 hour of playtime (depending on reading speed)

750+ renders, crafted with care

2 NSFW animated scenes with audio (featuring 6 custom-made animations)

2 cinematic cutscenes enhancing the main narrative (a total of 25 video files)

Around 50% of the OST completed, with approximately 15 tracks (fully composed by myself)(Some scenes may not have background music yet)

Fully implemented sound design

Introduction to core systems: free-roam, stat management, university system, metro rides, and menus

Additional Info:

Size: ~1.3 GB (sorry about that 😄)

Platform: PC only for now — an Android version may come later

And what's planned for May then ?

Even though the Prologue is now complete, there’s still work to be done. I’ll need to address various issues and go through the feedback gathered during the playtest. It’s hard to put an exact timeframe on this phase, but I don’t want to spend too long on it either. Hopefully, the playtest goes smoothly and allows me to move forward efficiently.

Looking ahead, my main focus will be on expanding the sandbox activities—more specifically, the job systems. For the official release planned on September 1st, I aim to have two jobs available for Luna:

Cleaner at the SpaWorld facility

Luna will be tasked with cleaning the premises using a mop. Sounds simple enough… if not for the rather revealing outfit she’s required to wear. Apparently, this kind of “marketing strategy” attracts more customers—though not always the most respectful ones.

Pizza maker at Marco’s trattoria

Both of these jobs are planned to feature engaging gameplay mechanics, with outcomes (money/reputation/events) influenced by your performance—success or failure. I want Nightmares of the Moon to feel as dynamic as possible, so most activities will include short mini-games (which will remain skippable for those who prefer a more narrative-focused experience).

And of course… I’ll be aiming to include as much NSFW content as possible within these systems. That said, it will ultimately depend on how much I can realistically fit into the initial release.
