In this 7th monthly devlog, we’ll dive into everything I worked on throughout May. I've put all my focus on one of the biggest job oppurtunity for Luna in Nightmares of the Moon: Cleaner girl in SpaWorld!

Prepare some drinks and snacks, because in this DevLog, we will dive into all the work I've made to make this job as fun, replayable, extensive and of course, erotic as ever!

🧹 The main mechanics of the job 🧹

SpaWorld is one of the first major job systems I’m building for Nightmares of the Moon.The idea is simple: Luna works as a cleaner inside the most famous spa facility of Sitria, moving between different areas, cleaning dirty spots, earning money, gaining experience, and dealing with the consequences of being dressed so sexily in place filled with perverts...

At its core, the job revolves around two important stats:

🧹 Experience 🧹This reflects Luna’s progress as a cleaner. The more she works and succeeds in cleaning mini-games, the higher it gets, increasing dirty spot spawn rates, rarity, rewards etc...

💜​​ Reputation 💜​This reflects how SpaWorld’s clients perceive Luna. As it decreases, random NSFW events become more likely, more intense, and slowly change how she is treated inside the facility. (Be careful how you handle things up!)

​🎲​ High risk / High reward & Randomness ​🎲​

The main idea is to give the player freedom in how they approach the job. I always liked high-risk / high-reward mechanics, and being a cleaner at SpaWorld is no exception.

There are three main places Luna can clean:

Private Female SaunaAbsolutely safe, but with a low spawn rate and lower rarity dirty spots.

Mixed BathRelatively safe, with a medium spawn rate and medium rarity dirty spots.

Private Male SaunaDangerous, but with a higher spawn rate and better chances of rare dirty spots.

Each dirty spot has its own rarity level, which affects both the difficulty of the mini-game and the amount of cleanpoints Luna can earn. Common spots are easy but less rewarding, while rare and legendary spots are harder but much more profitable.

However, failing the mini-game means Luna gains nothing from it and may even lose experience points, so pushing for better rewards always comes with a risk.

❤️‍🔥 NSFW Events ❤️‍🔥

SpaWorld will feature many events, both small and large.

People in Sitria are starting to wonder why the facility only hires young women and makes them work in such revealing outfits…One thing is certain: the male clients seem very happy with this “business plan.” 😏

NSFW events are divided into two main categories:

Random smaller events

These are shorter events that can appear during Luna’s shift. Depending on the player’s choices, Luna may either recover some reputation or lose even more of it.

Her reputation level will affect both the spawn rate and the intensity of these events.

But don’t be fooled: even the smallest encounter can lead to much more erotic outcomes if the right conditions are met…

Named character events

These are larger, more complex events focused on specific characters. Each named character can have their own slow-burn route, which the player may choose to follow for benefits… or avoid to remain pure.

Depending on your choices, Luna may slowly get dragged deeper into these character's personal routes, unlocking more intense scenes over time.

For the 0.1 release, only one route has been started (Richard). But many events are already planned and will be gradually added throughout the game’s development.

📜​ SpaWorld will have an entire side questline! 📜​

SpaWorld won’t just be a silly job mini-game to earn money or unlock a few lewd scenes.

It will also have its own side questline, with a strong focus on narrative. Through this questline, the player will follow Lara Hunt, a mysterious young woman with a tough attitude who works the same job as Luna.

But Lara clearly doesn’t seem like the type of girl who would work at SpaWorld.

So what is she doing here? Is it only for money alone?What are her real objectives?

❓​ Alright Valkyn, what's planned for June?! ❓​

In June, I will focus on Luna’s second job opportunity: the pizzeria kitchen job.

This job will be lighter and less ambitious than SpaWorld, with a simpler mini-game where the player has to craft pizzas according to specific recipes under time limit.

I also plan to make this mini-game fully skippable once the player has completed the job successfully at least once, to avoid unnecessary repetition.That being said, I do think the mini-game is pretty fun!

I won’t spoil too much for now, but I’ll tease it soon on my Discord server.

I will also work on implementing more sandbox activities and improvements, such as buying new clothes at a clothing shop (Only 1 planned for first release), going for a jog, adding a timed buff system, and improving the university system.

✨​ QoL improvements & Final Words ✨

I’ve also made many QoL improvements to the game, especially in the Prologue, thanks to all the playtesters who took the time to share their valuable feedback!

I changed the text font, the dialogue box, the choice menu, and several other UI elements to improve readability, polish, and overall immersion.

I’m really thrilled with how the game is shaping up. With the release date coming in only three months, I can confidently say this first public release is going to be beautiful and with quite the content!
