Chapter 50: Changing The Law Of The World
At this moment, not many people knew that the earthquake were not only happening in the Black Mountains of the Dolge Kingdom but across the entire world, all the continents of the Lily's World were experiencing upheaval.
However, at least on the Tyra Continent, there was one person who knew.
In the Duke Li Lin mansion in the Dolge Kingdom, Fay, who had been chatting with Lamire, suddenly stood up with a drastic change in her expression and quickly walked outside, looking towards the eastern sky.
"What's going on?"
Lamire also sensed that something was wrong and looked puzzled at the ground.
"An earthquake? I haven't heard any mentions of earthquakes going to happen. It doesn't seem like there's a powerful being fighting either."
"No, this isn't an earthquake. Someone is changing the law."
"Which law?" Lamire was momentarily stunned, unable to react.
Fay sighed heavily with a grave expression. "Someone is attempting to change the Fundamental Law of the world.”
Finally, Lamire realized, her face showing rare shock and horror: "Wait, the only one who can change the Fundamental Law of the world is—!”
"That's right, it's the current Student Council President of Cradle Academy—he's using the [Authority of the Supreme King] to alter the world Fundamental Law."
A rare expression of anger appeared on Fay's face. If Night were to see it, he would surely be very surprised.
As for why, it’s because Fay had never shown such a negative emotion before.
"That damn kid! He actually abused the [Authority of the Supreme King] like this—I've never heard of any proposed agenda that needed him to change the world's Fundamental Law!”
"You are right, there is no mention of this in the news.” Lamire confirmed Fay's statement, equally anxious. "So, does this mean that the student council president has used the '[Authority of the Supreme King]' without discussing it with anyone?"
Cradle Academy was the center of the world, and every decision that was made there would affect the entirety of the world.
"It's unusual for the student council president to be so reckless, this is the first time in history for a Fundamental Law to be changed without prior announcement.”
Fay sighed, her expression gradually calming down, smiling helplessly as she shrugged, then turned and went back to her room.
"Ugh, why isn't Night here at a time like this? I really want to hug my baby boy to warm myself up!”
"Well..." Fay's reaction left Lamire a bit stunned. "Shouldn't we be doing something now?"
"What can we do?"
Fay's counterquestion left Lamire speechless.
Even though she was the Sword Saint of the Dolge Kingdom, the strongest person on the Tyra Continent, no matter how much she trained, she still won’t be able to cause problems in a place like the Cradle Academy.
In fact, even those beings who could cause some problem if they are going on a rampage in the Cradle Academy, such as the Gods, couldn't do anything against the Student Council President.
Except...
"Right now, we can only hope for the students of Cradle Academy to take action."
Fay reassured Lamire with a smile.
"Even the Gods are powerless in this situation, no one can resist the [Authority of the Supreme King]. But, it's not entirely hopeless."
"The [Authority of the Supreme King] is divided into two parts. One part is automatically inherited by each successive Student Council President of Cradle Academy, and the other part is the 'Rules of Cradle Academy' itself."
"Therefore, while the Student Council President of Cradle Academy can freely change the Laws of the world, they cannot change the rules of Cradle Academy. Within the rules of Cradle Academy, there are two rules that serve as solid shackles against the Student Council President."
"First, the [Authority of the Supreme King], whether directly or indirectly, is not allowed to affect the current students of Cradle Academy."
"Second, when more than half of the students of Cradle Academy vote unanimously, they can directly impeach the current Student Council President of Cradle Academy."
Fay sat on the sofa, raising and then retracting two fingers, shrugging his shoulders.
"So, how things will unfold depends on how the current students of Cradle Academy will act. As for the rest of us, there's nothing we can do but watch, we are no different than fish in a pan, waiting for slaughter."
With that said, Fay relaxed completely, nodded, and smiled.
"Regardless of how things develop, those distant matters won't concern us for now. Let's continue living our own lives."
Furthermore, It's been thousands of years since she graduated from Cradle Academy. Whatever happens now has nothing to do with her.
