Chapter 90: Style

Still feeling uneasy, Tian Shui handed the cup of tea back to Shi Hai and demanded,
"No way! You drink it first to prove it!"

"Alright… I’ll drink first."

To put her at ease, Shi Hai took a sip.

After drinking, he held the cup and shrugged.

"See? No adverse effects, right? It’s just regular iced barley tea. Although, it’s not that cold anymore."

"Fine…"

Tian Shui massaged her temples, realizing she might have overreacted a bit.

The current Shi Hai wasn’t at the level where he’d do anything truly outrageous.

She suspected her mild PTSD was acting up.

Probably a side effect of being dragged into humiliating memories earlier, nearly losing her humanity in the process.

Seeing her still look drained, Shi Hai offered, "If you’re still worried, senior, don’t drink the tea I brought. You probably have cold drinks in your fridge, right? Want me to grab one for you?"

"No need. This is fine."

Tian Shui took the cup back from Shi Hai and sipped the remaining tea.

No taste of blood in her mouth—seemed like she hadn’t bitten her tongue hard enough to draw blood.

"Uh…"

Shi Hai froze, watching her move.

He had been about to offer her a fresh cup, but she’d taken the one right from his hand.

And she hadn’t even switched hands.

In other words, it was clearly an indirect kiss.

Shi Hai scratched his cheek awkwardly and said, "Senior, aren’t you bothered by that…?"

"Bothered by what?"

He pointed to the rim of the cup in her hand.

"Oh…"

Only then did Tian Shui catch on.

And she couldn’t hold back her laughter.

"Pfft… hahaha!"

To think he’d care about something as juvenile as an indirect kiss—how cute was that?

Clutching her stomach, Tian Shui laughed heartily.

As her laughter subsided, she had a realization.

The Shi Hai before her now was still a completely inexperienced virgin, someone who hadn’t even had a girlfriend yet.

To put it simply, he was a pure-hearted college boy.

So how did he transform into that devil in the future?

It must have been her fault…

Playing with fire... she was the foolish woman who got burned.

Shi Hai had his boundaries.

Though a rational thinker, his actions were deeply tied to his emotions.

In other words, he cared most about his family, friends, and lover.

Especially his family.

When it came to them, he would never take things lightly or allow them to be harmed.

This was one of the traits Tian Shui admired most about him.

After all, she was also fiercely protective of her loved ones and held great respect for her mother.

With these thoughts, Tian Shui finally calmed down completely.

"I don’t mind. Do you, Shi Hai?"

"Not really. If you don’t mind, senior, why should I?"

"Hmph…"

Though he said that, Tian Shui could tell he was a little bothered.

If he truly didn’t care, he wouldn’t have brought it up at all.

Which meant that the current Shi Hai was more susceptible to this kind of thing.

No wonder all the daring private photos she sent him hadn’t elicited much reaction—just being visually appealing wasn’t enough for him.

In his eyes, they were probably no different from lingerie photos readily found online.

Only now did Tian Shui pinpoint the crux of the issue.

The problem lay in the sense of distance.

She had closed the gap too quickly, giving off a vibe of being too easy.

The sudden gesture of casually using the cup he had sipped from had left a lasting impression on Shi Hai, contrary to her more deliberate, overt actions.

When Tian Shui tried too hard, it seemed to trigger Shi Hai's rational mind, making him think, "What’s her motive for doing this?"

But this unintentional act had instead sparked something in him.

Although they were both adults, for Shi Hai—who had never been in a relationship before—it was this kind of "ambiguous" feeling that resonated.

Like walking shoulder to shoulder and fretting about whether the distance should be ten centimeters or five.

Or wondering, "What if our hands accidentally touch while swinging our arms?"

That sort of heightened awareness of each other’s presence, worrying over trivial matters...

That’s what’s called the "first love" feeling!

Tian Shui had completely caught onto it.

Realizing this, she decided it was time to adjust her approach.

She stood up and said, "Shi Hai, I’m going to use the restroom."

"Please, go ahead."

Once in the restroom, Tian Shui began tweaking her appearance.

There was no need to change clothes—just altering the vibe would be enough.

She pulled up the deliberately lowered neckline, concealing her exposed shoulders and cleavage.

Next, she tucked the unnaturally long hem of her T-shirt into her pants and adjusted the waistband to sit at her natural waist, instead of hanging precariously low.

Finally, she tied her long, loose hair into a high ponytail using a simple, plain rubber band.

Done. Tian Shui looked at herself in the mirror.

Yes, this was the look!

If her previous style made her seem like a girl who had been dragged home, clothes disheveled after some chaos, forced to wear ill-fitting garments...

Then now, she looked like a young girl who got caught in the rain on her way to her boyfriend’s house, and upon arrival, had to wear his oversized clothes but tried her best to adjust them to cover up.

Her innocence level had jumped several notches!

The last step was a slight adjustment to her tone and behavior.

She couldn’t completely switch from bold and daring to shy and reserved—that would feel too abrupt and lose her signature flair.

The key was to maintain her teasing nature but occasionally show a hint of shyness after a teasing remark.

Perfect!

After using the restroom and splashing her face with cold water, Tian Shui returned to the living room, feeling fully prepared.

As expected, her revamped appearance immediately captured Shi Hai’s attention.

From the moment she stepped out of the restroom, his eyes were glued to her.

"Whoa…"

Tian Shui smirked internally, pleased with the reaction, but outwardly raised an eyebrow and asked, "What are you staring at me like that for?"

"I’m just surprised. You don’t look like yourself anymore."

Tian Shui pursed her lips, pretending to be displeased, and shot back, "What do you mean by that? Do you think you’ve completely figured me out after just a few days of knowing me?"

"My bad… You’re right, I don’t know you that well yet. But I’m curious—why the sudden… modesty?"

Tian Shui crossed her arms, feigned a pout, and turned her head away with a touch of tsundere flair, sneaking glances at Shi Hai as she said, "Well… It’s not like you’re interested in looking at me anyway! Why should I bother showing off… Who am I even doing it for?"

"Is that so…"

Tian Shui then pretended to grow shy, her voice softening as she added, "Dressing like that… It makes me uncomfortable too, you know."

Shi Hai scratched his cheek and said, "Wow, senior, I didn’t think you could feel shy too."

"Isn’t that obvious?" she shot back.

It made sense—no matter how audacious someone might seem, they wouldn’t go to extremes like that without feeling some discomfort.

And given her perfect figure with every proportion maximized, there was no need for Tian Shui to go to such lengths unless... she was some kind of exhibitionist.

This left Shi Hai with a mixed impression of her:

  • Wealthy heiress

  • Goddess-like beauty

  • Mischievous instigator

  • Exhibitionist

  • Time traveler

In summary, she seemed like a rich second-generation woman born with a silver spoon, blessed with a devilish body and angelic face, but utterly bored with life due to having everything handed to her. In her search for excitement, she developed a strange habit of risky exposure—and then she even reincarnated.

An over-the-top character with every box ticked.

Thankfully, now that he had seen her display a hint of shyness, she felt a little more real.

Otherwise, thinking about it carefully...

She’d really just be a perverted woman.
