Chapter 121: Yue Jianli’s Utter Embarrassment!
Hearing Qin Ruyan’s voice outside the door, Li Ran was utterly bewildered.
‘What is she doing here at this hour?’
Yue Jianli’s chest heaved with anger, like a furious little lion. She gritted her teeth and said, “You still claim you’re not close? She’s coming to you willingly!”
“…”
Knock, knock, knock
Qin Ruyan knocked again, her voice soft and alluring. “Holy Son Li, are you awake?”
‘That vixen!’
Yue Jianli drew her sword, ready to storm out.
Li Ran quickly grabbed her, holding her tightly in his arms and clamping a hand over her mouth.
At the same time, he raised his voice and said, “I’ve already retired for the night. If there’s anything, let’s talk tomorrow—Ow!”
Before he could finish his sentence, a sharp pain shot through his right hand.
Looking down, he saw Yue Jianli biting down hard on the webbing between his thumb and index finger, using all her strength.
“You’re biting me again! Are you part dog?!” Li Ran whispered angrily.
“Mmph! Mmph!”
Yue Jianli growled through clenched teeth, refusing to let go.
Outside the door, Qin Ruyan heard the commotion and asked curiously, “What’s wrong, Holy Son Li? Are you alright?”
Li Ran gritted his teeth and replied, “Nothing, just my pet dog misbehaving. Saintess Qin, please go back to your room. We can talk tomorrow.”
Upon hearing this, Yue Jianli was furious. She bit down even harder, almost drawing blood.
Qin Ruyan paused for a moment. “Holy Son Li has a dog?”
Something felt off about the situation, but since Li Ran had said so, she couldn’t insist further.
“Alright, then rest well. I’ll see you tomorrow morning,” she said and returned to her room.
Li Ran waited until he heard the neighboring door close before letting go of Yue Jianli. Looking at his hand, he saw a perfect circle of teeth marks.
Yue Jianli was panting with anger, her eyes blazing. “Who are you calling your pet dog?!”
Li Ran activated a soundproof barrier and retorted, “This is the second time you’ve bitten me, isn’t it? If you’re not part dog, how do you have such sharp teeth?”
“I’ll fight you to the death!”
Yue Jianli, enraged beyond words, lunged at him.
Li Ran sighed, pulling out his Immortal Binding Rope and swiftly tying her up, leaving her thoroughly secured.
Her hands were tied behind her back, and the contours of her graceful figure became even more pronounced beneath her green robe.
“Li Ran, you tied me up again!”
Yue Jianli’s cheeks flushed crimson, and she was on the verge of losing her temper entirely.
Having learned from her previous experience, she didn’t dare struggle. Struggling would only make the ropes tighten further.
Li Ran crossed his arms and said, “Who told you to bite me again?”
“That’s because you lied to me first, you big liar!” Yue Jianli retorted angrily.
Although her limbs were bound, her cultivation was still active. With a thought, her sword lit up and floated in midair.
“Hurry up and untie me!”
Li Ran raised an eyebrow, his temper flaring. “Are you actually pointing your sword at me?”
Angered, he tossed Yue Jianli onto the bed and delivered a firm slap to her ass.
Smack!
Her green robe rippled, the sound crisp and reverberating.
A soft gasp escaped.
The floating sword immediately lost its momentum, clattering to the floor.
Yue Jianli froze for a moment before shouting, “You— you dare hit me?!”
Smack!
Li Ran didn’t reply, delivering another slap.
Yue Jianli struggled in a mix of fury and embarrassment. “You scoundrel! I’ll kill you!”
Smack!
“Rogue! Pervert! Shameless!”
Smack!
“Mmph…”
Just as Li Ran raised his hand again, his motion froze.
He realized Yue Jianli had gone silent. Her face was buried in the pillow, and her shoulders trembled lightly.
Was she… crying?
Li Ran swallowed nervously and carefully turned her over.
Yue Jianli had her eyes shut tightly, her face streaked with tears as she sobbed quietly.
Li Ran panicked.
He was so used to her charging at him with her sword, shouting threats, that he was at a loss seeing her like this.
Had he hit too hard just now?
Noticing she was still bound tightly, he hurriedly loosened the Immortal Binding Rope.
Yet Yue Jianli still didn’t move.
Scratching his head, he asked tentatively, “I might have gone overboard earlier. Are you okay?”
Yue Jianli: “Waaah…”
“Was it because I hit too hard?”
“Waaah…”
“Uh… Should I help you rub it?”
“No way!”
Yue Jianli shot upright, her hands instinctively shielding her rear, her face flushed crimson.
“No need! I… I’ll do it myself…”
Li Ran grabbed a handkerchief and gently wiped the tears from her face, speaking softly. “Did it hurt a lot?”
Yue Jianli turned her head, avoiding his gaze.
The disciples of the Ten Thousand Swords Pavilion were known for their focus on body refinement, so her physical resilience was far from weak.
It wasn’t pain she felt, but rather… an odd sensation. Her whole body tingled as if a current was running through her.
“You scoundrel! You’re really going to bully me to death!” Yue Jianli bit her lip, her voice trembling slightly.
She could barely process the situation. That part of her… how could he just touch it like that?
Flustered, she had burst into tears earlier out of sheer embarrassment and helplessness.
Li Ran looked genuinely apologetic.
He realized he had indeed gone too far. After all, she was still a pure and innocent maiden.
The room fell silent for a while.
Then Yue Jianli spoke in a low voice, “Why did you stop me earlier? Were you worried Qin Ruyan would misunderstand?”
“Of course not.”
Li Ran shook his head. “With so many righteous and demonic cultivators gathered here at this inn, if word got out about our relationship… it would bring you a lot of trouble.”
A righteous sword immortal secretly meeting a demonic sect holy son at night?
That would be explosive news.
Li Ran wasn’t concerned about himself, but Yue Jianli was different. He worried the righteous sects wouldn’t tolerate her anymore.
“So you were worried about me?”
Yue Jianli’s eyes regained some sparkle as she looked at him.
Li Ran sighed and said, “What else would it be? I’m not close to Qin Ruyan, so why would I care what she thinks?”
Yue Jianli’s lips curled into a slight smile. She huffed softly, “Hmph, at least you have some conscience.”
Then she seemed to recall something, her expression turning angry.
“But you still shouldn’t have hit me there! And with so much force!”
Li Ran scratched his cheek awkwardly. “It’s just… the feel was so good, I couldn’t stop myself.”
“Don’t say that!”
Yue Jianli quickly covered his mouth, her face burning red like a ripe apple.
Meeting his deep gaze, she panicked and averted her eyes.
“Qin Ruyan coming to find you late at night— She must have ulterior motives. You’re not allowed to get involved with her!” Yue Jianli pouted as she spoke.
Li Ran chuckled silently. “Still saying you’re not jealous?”
Yue Jianli glared at him, her face still streaked with tears.
Her delicate and pitiful appearance made his heart skip a beat.
Just as he was about to say something, a commotion erupted outside, accompanied by hurried footsteps.
Bang, bang!
The door was knocked on urgently, and Qin Ruyan’s anxious voice came from outside.
“Holy Son Li, something’s wrong! A horde of spiritual beast is attacking the city!”
