Chapter 13: It's Time to Go Downstairs

The Teddy bear was caught in deep dilemma. Obviously, it didn't want to witness any strange events unfold, but it also didn't want Li Pai to find the right leg. After weighing the options, the Teddy bear finally gave in. It pointed towards the fireplace.

Li Pai held the Teddy bear and walked towards the fireplace. "Is the right leg hidden in the fireplace?" Li Pai asked, and the Teddy bear nodded in confirmation.

Li Pai reached into the fireplace and searched around the ashes until he finally felt the sole of the foot. The entire leg was taped inside the chimney, hidden quite deeply. Without the Teddy bear's guidance, Li Pai might not have thought of searching in such a discreet place.

After some struggle, Li Pai managed to retrieve the right leg, which was covered in soot and had a sense of familiarity, as if it were wearing black stockings.

The Teddy bear noticed Li Pai's gaze and immediately pounced towards him, attempting to shield her with its small body. However, it was too tiny to cover both sides simultaneously, so it ended up running back and forth in a comical manner.

Amused by the Teddy bear's antics, Li Pai laughed. This terrifying scene unexpectedly included such a comical character. It seemed to be included to ease the tense atmosphere, and it worked quite well.

Li Pai grabbed the Teddy bear, which was frantically trying to obstruct his view, and placed his hand on Elora's body. In the next moment, the body disappeared instantly, leaving the Teddy bear stunned.

The Teddy bear rubbed its button eyes, seemingly unable to believe what it had just witnessed.
