Chapter 27: Ambushed

A crossbow bolt flashed with silver light, heading towards the position where Li Pai and Snow White were.

Seeing the arrow, Li Pai felt his eyes as he immediately noticed what it was. After all, in the previous game, he had used it against the ghost girl.

It was a Demon Hunter's crossbow bolt!

Without thinking, Li Pai instinctively embraced Snow White, trying to dodge the arrow with her.

The crossbow bolt passed directly through both Li Pai and Snow White's bodies, embedding itself in a nearby dead tree.

Back at the campfire, the two of them had sensed the presence of magical creatures through their vibrating compass.

Out of caution, they hadn't acted immediately, instead pretending to play cards while blessing all their weapons with holy power and drinking potions to enhance their physical abilities.

After buffing up, the two of them followed the compass's guidance, intending to ambush their targets.

However, they were tracking two ghosts, so the surprise crossbow attack didn't work.

Still, for two seasoned Demon Hunters, they undoubtedly had means to deal with ghosts.

Even if the ambush didn't succeed, it didn't matter to them, they had various ways to deal with a ghost type monster..

The two exchanged glances, a tacit understanding between them. They split up in opposite directions, closing in on Li Pai and Snow White.

Snow White was busy dealing with the skinny demon hunter and gave a concise answer to Li Pai.
