Chapter 47: She's Here

After handing the sword to Jason, Carter shifted his focus to the front. Now, all he needed to do was hold off this Specter for a while. Once Jason dealt with the ordinary Specter and reclaimed the heart, using the peachwood nail to pierce it, the Specter would suffer severe damage. Then, it would be much easier to deal with!

Carter brandished his longsword, gritting his teeth as he confronted Blanche's relentless attacks.

Behind Carter, Jason received the thin sword and glared at Li Pai. This guy had not only caused him to be pierced by the peachwood nail in his palm but had also snatched away a crucial item right in front of him. Jason had to use this thin sword to stab him in the butt and teach him a lesson.

Jason swung the thin sword and charged at Li Pai. His heavy armor made a loud clang as he ran. The only drawback was that it was too heavy, slowing down Jason's running speed. In contrast, Li Pai, as a Specter, moved much faster than Jason.

Li Pai didn't engage Jason directly and instead darted around the edge of the pit traps. Jason continuously swung the thin sword, trying to catch up, but he couldn't land a single hit on Li Pai, which frustrated him immensely.

"Jason! Is it done yet? Why are you so slow?"

On the other side, Carter's pressure was increasing, and his equipment was running out. He had to shout and urge Jason.

"I want to, too! But this guy's movement is too tricky! I can't hit him!"

Jason chased after Li Pai, sweating profusely, and lifted his visor to catch his breath.

Swoosh!

Just as Jason exposed his face, a silver arrow shot towards him. Jason reacted quickly and immediately changed direction.

Ding!

The silver arrow hit the side of his helmet and bounced off to the side. Li Pai didn't care at all. These silver arrows, if they didn't hit their target, could be retrieved.

After shooting this arrow, Li Pai once again took to the air like a kite. As an ordinary Specter, avoiding direct confrontation was the wisest choice.

As time passed, the situation began to tilt in favor of Blanche and Li Pai.

Swoosh!

Carter swung his sword to cut off the black threads entangling his arm. His speed was already slowing down, but the Specter on the other side still maintained a fierce onslaught. Carter became increasingly impatient.

He knew that if this continued, he was bound to be finished. He hadn't expected the mission to be so dangerous. Perhaps... should he escape?

Carter began to hesitate. While the mission rewards were tempting, staying alive was the most important. As a seasoned Monster Hunter, choosing to flee when faced with an unbeatable Specter was a reasonable and sensible choice.

Carter took out the last crystal from his backpack, ready to crush it to buy some time.

Suddenly, footsteps could be heard from the nearby forest.

In the sky, crows scattered in terror, as if something was rushing towards this direction. Everyone present held their breath, their attention focused on the restless forest.

Whoosh!

A red figure leaped out of the woods and appeared in the middle of the battlefield.

‘It's her!’

Carter's heart leaped with joy! In such a dire situation, she had actually arrived! This person, despite appearing to be a teenage loli, was absolutely ruthless when it came to killing monsters. It could be said that half of the monsters killed in the Night Forest were taken down by her. The Monster Hunters had given her a nickname, "Red Reaper." For monsters, encountering her was akin to meeting the Grim Reaper.

"Red Reaper! Over here!"

"Quick, lend a hand!"

Carter swung his sword to fend off the black threads that were attacking him and shouted.

"It's her!"

Blanche's pupils contracted as she recognized this loli. She had also come! This time, they were in big trouble!

"Run!"

Blanche shouted at Li Pai. In front of this person, no monster had any chance of surviving, let alone weaklings like Li Pai.

"Run?"

"Today, none of you Specters will escape!"

Carter was extremely pleased. The Red Reaper was much more formidable than Bonnie. With her here, this mission was going to be a breeze!

The loli stood still on the ground and slowly removed her red hood, revealing an exquisite little face, a perfect beauty in the making. It was hard to imagine that such a little girl was a fearsome monster killer. She coldly scanned her surroundings.

When her gaze fell on Blanche, the loli furrowed her brow. She sensed a familiar aura from Blanche. It was difficult...

The loli's heart skipped a beat, and she immediately looked towards the wooden house. Through the second-floor window, another little girl was excitedly waving at her.

"Eldest Sister!"

The little girls greeted each other.

This loli was the eldest sister of the girls, Léa Dubois!

"Eldest Sister!?"

Both Li Pai and Blanche were stunned.

This ruthless Monster Hunter was none other than the eldest of the 7 dwarfs?!

This...

"It seems they are safe..."

Léa sighed in relief. She was puzzled as to why there was an aura of her sisters on the Specter she was battling. However, her sisters seemed to be in good Specters, so they probably hadn't been drained of their strength by this Specter.

For now, they needed to resolve the chaos in front of the wooden house.

Léa saw Jason and her eyes widened. She had spotted something that filled her with anger. On Jason's armor was the royal insignia.

"Mother lapdog?"

Léa stared at Jason coldly, her eyes filled with murderous intent. When Jason, who was chasing after Li Pai, met Léa's gaze, his heart involuntarily skipped a beat. 

It was terrifying! The intensity of that girl glare felt like needles piercing every inch of his body.

"Get him quickly! He's the Queen's lapdog!"

Li Pai goaded from the sidelines.

When the children on the second floor shouted that they were still very much alive, their eldest sister, Li Pai figured out the overal situation.

Each of the 7 Sisters were cursed with a curse that amplified one of the Seven Deadly Sins inside of them, and Léa seemed to be under the curse that amplified her wrath, which explains why she’s so quick to anger. 

And a person consumed by their anger wouldn't easily let go of their enemies.

Sure enough, without any hesitation, Léa lunged at Jason.

"Wait!"

"Let's talk it out!"

"I'm the Queen's–”

"Oh no..."

Jason, with a frightened expression, instinctively tried to assert his identity, hoping to intimidate her. But halfway through his sentence, he realized that the reason this Red Reaper had charged at him was likely because he was the Queen's captain of the royal guard!

"Damn it!"

‘Does she really think I’m weak because I'm not good at dealing with Specters?I became the captain of the royal guard through my strength!’

Jason threw his sword to the ground and clenched his fists, putting all his strength into a forward punch.

With Jason clad in heavy armor and Léa's slender arms, there was a stark contrast.

In the next moment, their fists collided!

A shockwave erupted between the two!

Bang!!!

The armor on Jason's arm suddenly exploded, shattering and scattering in all directions. Following that, thin bloodstains appeared on Jason's muscular arm.

Plop...

Accompanied by the sound of bones cracking, the bloodstains burst open, and fresh blood gushed out!

Jason's arm was ruined.

Retreating a few steps, Jason's face was filled with shock. He hadn't expected this little loli to be this strong!

There is no other way left! He had to run!

Without any hesitation, Jason turned and sprinted toward his horse.

At this moment, something frustrating happened to Jason.

Beside the horse, that ordinary-looking Specter was holding the sword that Jason had thrown aside earlier and stabbed it into the horse's backs!

The poor horse let out a miserable whinny and disappeared into the woods.
