Chapter 24: Two New Members Join the Knights
Morgan had left Lot’s side.
That damn perverted dog had pushed all the work onto her.
Now, the only thing he was seriously doing was messing with Merlin.
Everything else was left for her to handle.
But Morgan was in a good mood today, so she didn’t mind taking on extra work.
She had gained two new objectives that would help her move forward.
One was researching the vitamins Lot had mentioned.
She had a feeling that if she completed this research, she would gain a deeper understanding of Lot. At the same time, it would undoubtedly strengthen Camelot.
Morgan speculated that if she could squeeze every bit of Lot’s energy dry, she could push all of Britain to an unimaginable level.
Perhaps, just as Lot envisioned, their strength wouldn’t be confined to this island of Britain.
They could set foot in Francia.
Maybe even march into the legendary city of Rome itself.
To witness what that famed City of Seven Hills truly looked like.
So, for the future of Britain—
Lot, please let me drain you dry as soon as possible!
Morgan thought to herself.
The second matter at hand was the establishment of the knightly order.
Lot’s idea of an army was difficult to realize—training commoners into soldiers was no easy task.
However, gathering a group of knights and instilling them with the faith and discipline of battle… that was a different story.
That being said, older knights wouldn’t be suitable.
They would be harder to… shape into true believers.
Younger ones would be better.
Hmm…
Young, skilled knights…
Wait.
Morgan thought of two people.
Two knights who had recently joined under her and Lot.
The ones who would likely be the most loyal to them.
Good. She would find them.
Morgan’s eyes lit up.
She wasted no time and headed straight for Kay and Artoria.
When it came to getting things done, she never dragged her feet.
…
When Morgan arrived at Artoria’s ship, she saw the knight she’s looking for standing alone on the deck, observing something intently.
The moment Artoria noticed Morgan’s arrival through magic, she tensed up, initially startled. But upon recognizing Morgan, she immediately slid her half-drawn sword back into its sheath and stood at attention, chest high, facing Morgan with confidence.
“Your Majesty, Queen Morgan.”
She declared loudly.
Now that she had pledged her loyalty to Lot, she had changed her way of addressing Morgan—from Princess to Queen.
“Mm.”
Morgan nodded lightly.
She glanced around the deck, then asked with some curiosity,
“Wait, where is everyone else?”
“They’re eating.”
Artoria replied.
“And you?”
Morgan was intrigued.
Even though Artoria was small in stature, he was undeniably strong. There was no way the others would exclude him.
“I’ll eat later. The ship’s pot isn’t big enough to cook everything at once.”
“…”
Morgan suddenly had the urge to leave.
Was their knightly order going to revolve around a cooking pot?
Would people take one look at their knights and think, Are these warriors or just a group of hungry eaters?
These knights were all gathering around a giant pot to discuss matters.
At this rate… should they just call themselves the "Round Pot Knights"?
Oh, no, absolutely not.
That name alone would make their enemies lose half their fighting strength—
From laughing too hard.
Still, after some thought, Morgan decided to recruit him anyway.
After all, Artoria had great potential, and according to Lot, he was special in some way.
Fine, let’s bring him in.
But he should eat in secret—don’t let the enemies see.
They had to maintain some dignity.
“Alright then, eat later. I have something to ask you.”
“What is it?”
Though slightly reluctant, Artoria still listened attentively.
Morgan looked at her seriously and said,
“I want to establish a knightly order, and I want you to be among the first to join.”
A knightly order?
Artoria’s signature ahoge curled into the shape of a question mark.
Was she being transferred to a special unit?
A team made entirely of knights?
She felt a surge of excitement at the thought.
Then she recalled something Merlin had told her:
"King Lot and Queen Morgan are different from Uther. Uther has only one daughter—the Queen. One day, Camelot’s throne will likely belong to her and King Lot. If you join now, you will surely become an exceptional and renowned knight in the future."
So…
“Your Majesty, I am willing to join your knightly order.”
“Good.”
Morgan gave a satisfied smile.
Then, Artoria looked at Morgan with curiosity.
“By the way, Your Majesty, how many knights are in this order?”
She wanted to know where she stood among them.
“Just two.”
Morgan averted her gaze.
Artoria’s ahoge once again curled into a question mark.
“…And the other member?”
“We’re about to recruit him. That person is your foster brother—Kay.”
Morgan looked up at the sky.
What a clear, blue day…
Is it too late to regret this decision?
Artoria thought to herself.
But then, another idea struck her.
If the knightly order only had two people, then that meant her foster brother Kay would be its first knight, and she would be the second.
They were the founding members.
That… wasn’t bad at all.
Thinking this, she suddenly felt much better.
Tonight, she could probably eat five extra loaves of bread.
“Alright then, come with me to find your foster brother.”
Morgan instructed.
“Understood.”
Artoria nodded seriously..
And so, the two of them went to find Kay.
When Kay saw that Artoria had already joined Morgan’s knightly order, he accepted the offer as well.
“Good. Our knightly order is now officially established.”
Morgan looked at her two new knights, feeling satisfied.
Then Kay asked,
“Your Majesty, since we’re forming a knightly order, shouldn’t we have a name? What will it be?”
“…Oh, right.”
Morgan suddenly realized.
If they didn’t pick a name quickly, what if people actually started calling them the "Round Pot Knights"?!
They had to decide on a proper name.
But what should it be?
Morgan thought for a moment…
Then she decided—this was a problem for a certain perverted dog to deal with.
