Volume 2 Chapter 86: Kaiser Ghidorah vs. Godzilla (Part 4)
Godzilla's body plummeted from the stormy skies, relentlessly pursued by an endless barrage of lightning. His charred form, glowing red-hot from the searing strikes, finally crashed into the earth below.
BOOM!!!
The impact shook the land with a cataclysmic tremor. The ground fractured as bedrock shattered, sending soil and debris soaring into the storm-laden sky. Rain and wind carried the scattered earth upward, only for a cascade of lightning to follow, mercilessly bombarding the cratered battlefield.
Crack! Crackle! Crackle!
Then, three atomic breaths and three high-energy beams rained down from above, piercing the kilometer-wide crater that Godzilla's impact had carved into the land.
Exploding into the depths of the pit, the combined assault detonated the buried monster, blasting Godzilla back into the open air.
The immense blasts, boasting tens of petawatts of energy, erupted directly in front of Godzilla, engulfing the entire area in a raging inferno.
For an instant, night turned to day.
The world was bathed in a searing brightness, outshining the sun itself. A fireball of several million degrees expanded a billionfold in the blink of an eye.
The sheer intensity of the heat ignited the vast forests stretching dozens of kilometers around. Even under the torrential rain, trees burned fiercely, only to be uprooted by floods and gales, spiraling into the storm-ravaged sky.
Whipped up by the hurricane, the blazing trees merged into crimson tornadoes, painting an eerie vision—
A storm of fire and rain.
Though the land below was drenched in ceaseless downpours, the forest burned relentlessly.
Even the towering tornadoes, wreathed in flames, stood out in stark contrast against the darkened world.
The massive fireball rose like a second sun, illuminating the heavens and dispersing the storm clouds.
And yet—Kaiser Ghidorah did not stop.
It continued its assault, determined to annihilate the beast buried below!
Through the torrential rain, Kaiser Ghidorah unleashed another devastating breath attack, pouring its energy into the fireball in an attempt to reduce everything on the surface to ashes!
The expanding inferno pierced the heavens.
The sheer heat tore apart the dense black clouds, while shockwaves blasted mountains of rock into the sky.
Even those hundreds of kilometers away felt the devastating light of the explosion.
Even through the storm and rain, the distant survivors could barely withstand the blinding intensity.
Their eyes burned.
In underground shelters, civilians fell to the ground, clutching their faces in pain.
And yet, amidst the agony, only one thought echoed through their minds.
Did Godzilla lose?
Did Godzilla lose?
Did Godzilla… lose?!
<+>
From the heavens, an unending storm of lightning rained down, striking into the heart of the inferno, determined to obliterate the challenger that dared to defy Kaiser's dominion.
Kaiser Ghidorah's breath attack consumed the sky, fueling the firestorm below.
It circled the battlefield, its remaining three Ghidorah's Wings standing vigil at its side.
It never stopped unleashing its destruction.
Its beams and lightning continued to pour into the fireball, heating it, expanding it, until its own body reached the brink of overheating.
Only then—did it cease.
By now, the fireball had grown over ten kilometers in radius.
Neither the storm nor the black clouds remained—all had been consumed.
The flames of annihilation raged on.
Kaiser Ghidorah, having finished its attack, halted its flight.
Suspended beneath the storm's remnants, it gazed upon the colossal, sun-like inferno before it.
The overwhelming shockwaves tore through the rain, crashing into Kaiser's golden form—
Yet it did not waver.
Its four cold, indifferent eyes remained unmoved.
As if everything it had just done was utterly insignificant.
As if this destruction was nothing more than a trivial display of its power.
It was an absolute god.
And to this god, the affairs of the mortal world were meaningless.
Even if some insolent wretch had dared to defy its rule—
Even if one of its own heads had been torn from its body—
It didn’t matter.
Because with just a little time—
It would regenerate.
One of the remaining Ghidorah's Wings suddenly flew dangerously close to the hovering Kaiser Ghidorah.
As it approached, Kaiser opened its two remaining jaws wide— and bit down!
The captured Ghidorah's Wings did not resist.
Kaiser Ghidorah began releasing a weaker breath attack, melting the section it had bitten.
Molten metal dripped, liquefied by the intense heat, then flowed directly into Kaiser Ghidorah’s maw.
And as it devoured, the severed neck began its regeneration.
Visible to the naked eye.
The consumed metal coursed through Kaiser's body, immediately reinforcing the army of cells repairing its wounds.
The third head, which had once been ripped away, was now growing back.
Restoration was inevitable.
As long as there was enough to devour, no wound was beyond Kaiser Ghidorah's power to heal.
Once it had feasted upon enough “nourishment,” Kaiser finally released the now-lighter Ghidorah's Wings.
It had not been killed.
It had merely lost a piece of itself.
And even that could be restored.
To Kaiser Ghidorah, the other Ghidorah's Wings were nothing more than a living supply source.
As long as one remained, Kaiser Ghidorah could replenish its strength indefinitely.
There was never a need to retreat.
The injured Ghidorah's Wings would withdraw from the battlefield, recover in the rear lines, and return when needed.
A cycle of regeneration, ensuring Kaiser Ghidorah would never fall.
This was the Ghidorah strategy—
A front-line assault led by Kaiser Ghidorah and its fused Ghidorah's Wings, while additional Ghidorah's Wings acted as support units, terraforming the planet, corrupting its environment, and ensuring their enemies had nowhere left to flee.
Now, the severed head had fully regenerated.
Even the scales lost in battle had been restored.
Once again, its golden body hovered in the storm-choked heavens, untouched and unbroken.
Before it—a second sun, born from destruction.
Behind it—a storm, raised by its mighty wings.
Kaiser Ghidorah began gathering energy once more.
After cooling its core, it prepared another attack.
It did not believe that its previous onslaught had been enough to kill that massive, dark-green reptile.
Because in Kaiser's mind, if those attacks could not kill itself—
Then they could not kill Godzilla.
It had to keep attacking.
Until the entire land was reduced to ruin.
Kaiser's three heads surged with power, heat amassing within its titanic frame.
Below, in the shelters, those whose eyes had not been burned blind watched in horror.
They saw the divine entity in the sky.
They saw the fireball before it.
Three more beams of destruction fell.
The already impossible fireball swelled even larger, consuming more of the night.
The storm’s thick black clouds were peeled away, exposing—
A sky full of stars.
And there, against the backdrop of an endless cosmos, Kaiser Ghidorah stood—
A god, rewriting the earth in its image.
Breath after breath after breath, the fireball expanded—
Until at last, the night itself had been banished.
Only then did Kaiser Ghidorah prepare to leave.
It was certain.
Godzilla was dead.
The battlefield below was nothing but a firestorm, a wasteland of charred earth and ruin.
Satisfied, Kaiser Ghidorah turned away.
Its two remaining Ghidorah's Wings flanked its sides.
The conquest was complete.
The time had come to reshape this planet’s ecosystem.
With a final beat of its massive wings, Kaiser Ghidorah ascended.
The other Ghidorah's Wings followed.
They were leaving.
And then, from the scorched, lifeless ground beneath them—
A beam of atomic energy pierced the sky.
