Volume 2 Chapter 100: Negotiation

"Now then, Your Excellency from Bilusaludo, Your Excellency from Exif, it is time for us to discuss your promises regarding Godzilla."

"In order for us to coexist on this planet, how can you help us?"

Inside the headquarters of New Eden, within the parliamentary conference room, representatives from all around the world had gathered. They were not mere projections but real, flesh-and-blood individuals, physically present.

All of them were seated on one side, while on the other sat the Bilusaludo ambassador and the Exif ambassador (?).

Since expressions of friendship had already been made outside, it was time to discuss serious matters behind closed doors.

The entire negotiation was being broadcasted live to various think tanks, ensuring that every word spoken here would be analyzed.

Psychologists, physicists, materials scientists, chemists, biologists, and other scientific experts were standing by, ready to assess the value of the technologies the aliens might offer.

If the technologies turned out to be insignificant, it would further clarify humanity’s stance toward these extraterrestrials.

After all, the goal of these negotiations was not to extort advanced technology from the aliens but to determine their true intentions.

Humanity had no leverage to demand alien technology outright. Their only option was to observe and deduce the aliens' attitudes through negotiations.

Regarding the Bilusaludo, the parliamentarians were cautiously optimistic.

So far, their technology and combat capabilities were overwhelmingly superior, yet they had not chosen to invade Earth outright. That alone suggested they had arrived with at least some degree of goodwill.

However, humanity had also prepared for another possibility—what if their proposal of "joint development" was merely a pretense?

What if their decision not to invade was merely coincidental?

In that case, a certain contingency plan could be activated ahead of schedule.

This was meant to be a probe into the Bilusaludo.

But now…

A new factor had entered the equation—the Exif.

This was an enormous variable.

Perhaps… the presence of the Exif could be leveraged to extract even more technology from the Bilusaludo?

Many present quickly revised their strategies.

Perhaps they could use the Exif and the Bilusaludo to counterbalance each other at the negotiation table, securing more technological advancements for the United Earth Government.

That was the prevailing thought among the parliamentarians.

And their two alien guests were fully aware of it.

"Technology… All the technology aboard our expeditionary ship is available to you."

"If you wish, I can provide you with the master key to my ship's database. Earth’s people may access all its knowledge freely and record anything they desire."

"As for Godzilla… Once our mothership arrives in this planet’s orbit, whether it is Godzilla or even Ghidorah, it will be easily eliminated. Humans, we have already discussed this before."

Though the Bilusaludo ambassador appeared rugged, his approach to humanity was measured and composed.

He declared that all technology at his disposal was available to Earth and that he was willing to hand over the master key to his expeditionary vessel, allowing unrestricted access to its database.

But his words were frustratingly vague—no one knew for certain what kind of technology was stored aboard his ship. If it contained nothing useful, then this so-called "technological offering" would be a joke.

Even so, the mere possibility that it held technology far beyond human capabilities was significant.

Even if the database itself turned out to be empty, just having access to the ship's detailed schematics could be invaluable.

That meant that if the ship's schematics were thoroughly documented, humanity could make significant gains. If the principles behind the technology were recorded in extreme detail...

Then for humanity, this would be nothing short of an ascension.

However, fully understanding and utilizing it would take time. It wasn’t an immediate solution.

More pressing than that, what they truly wanted was to destroy Godzilla.

So, they asked: Why couldn't they destroy Godzilla now?

The answer they received was:

"The vessel I arrived in is merely a deep-space transport ship. It is not equipped with any weapons. Its cargo is my slumbering brethren. If we are to engage in combat, we would need to mobilize a special operations unit."

"Oh, and when you board the ship, I will awaken my brethren. Exchanging our knowledge in return for the survival of our first group is a fair trade, don’t you think?"

The Bilusaludo ambassador said this after glancing at the parliamentarians before him.

Surprisingly, he seemed quite agreeable.

Moreover, he had now stated the conditions for sharing the ship's knowledge, giving humanity a glimmer of hope—at the very least, the ship did contain valuable information.

The two sides continued their exchange, asking and answering various questions.

Throughout these discussions, the ambassador remained forthcoming in his responses. Of course, the parliamentarians also avoided asking anything too deep regarding the true secrets of the Bilusaludo.

There was an unspoken understanding between both parties—they did not probe too deeply into sensitive matters. Instead, they simply agreed on a timeline for receiving the knowledge.

That would also be the time when the 100,000 Bilusaludo aboard the ship would be awakened from stasis.

Throughout this long series of discussions, the Exif representative remained completely silent.

As if forgotten.

It simply sat there, watching.

Watching quietly.

No one else acknowledged its presence. It had been entirely excluded from the conversation.

Even though, before the meeting began, the parliamentarians had intended to pit the Bilusaludo and the Exif against each other...

At this moment, all attention was focused solely on the Bilusaludo. Not a single person paid any mind to the Exif representative.

Until Ludwig noticed this strange anomaly.

"What about the technology of the Exif?"

"In your promises, is there anything you can teach us?"

Ludwig was the first to break the silence, turning his gaze toward the unknown entity that they knew nothing about.

At this, the Exif representative gently clapped its hands.

Then, in front of the gathered parliamentarians, a list was projected.

Biological brain computers. Stabilization technology for carbon-sulfur carbynes. Artificial intelligence advancements. Helium nuclear fusion. High-current superconducting materials—

One after another, the technologies humanity had dreamed of appeared before their eyes—ranging from those already partially developed to those beyond human imagination.

An array of seemingly miraculous technologies was listed, leaving the scientific teams behind the parliamentarians in a state of frenzy.

Even the Bilusaludo ambassador, upon seeing some of the final items on the list, was filled with doubt.

Just as the human representatives were suppressing their emotions to respond, the Bilusaludo ambassador unexpectedly spoke first.

He asked:

"Why did you flee?"
