Volume 2 Chapter 127: Humanity's Assault

"Godzilla is now only 600 kilometers from the nearest city. It has already passed through the Indonesian archipelago. At its current pace, it will reach the city in just half an hour. According to SkyNet's calculations, once it advances another 100 kilometers, the city will fall within Godzilla’s attack range."

"What’s the evacuation status?"

"The city’s residents have all been evacuated. However… SkyNet’s projections show that even nuclear fallout shelters cannot withstand a Godzilla-level attack..."

"So we have no choice but to stop it from advancing?"

"Yes."

"What about the Damocles System?"

"It’s been launched from the aerospace base in South America… With your command, we can initiate the attack at any time..."

"Very well."

"I hereby declare, in my capacity as Parliamentary Leader of the World United Government—"

"Commence operations against Godzilla."

"The battle officially begins—now!"

. . . . . . . . . .

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

East Asia — Pearl River Delta Region.

Godzilla’s atomic breath swept across the forests ahead, flattening them along with the ruins of cities in its path.

Just a month ago, these cities were teeming with human life. But now, not a single person remained — only a mass of bizarre alien monsters.

How quickly things change.

Before humans ever existed, Godzilla — as a Titan — would sleep through stretches of thousands or even tens of thousands of years.

But ever since humanity emerged, Godzilla had become unusually "active."

This awakening alone had lasted barely a year, and yet in that short time, Godzilla had evolved from a 200-meter, 60,000-ton Titan into a 600-meter-tall, 40-million-ton super-monster.

Such a transformation would have been unthinkable in the past.

It had taken Godzilla considerable time to wipe out the Ghidorah ecosystems from East to Southeast Asia — greatly delaying its march toward North America.

But strangely enough, this didn’t seem to bother it. After all, both humanity and Ghidorah’s ecosystem were enemies. Plus, expanding its own ecological territory was part of its mission, according to its internal directive. For Godzilla, there wasn’t much difference between eliminating humans and clearing out Ghidorah’s influence.

Come to think of it, although its current objective was to eliminate humanity...

It hadn’t actually killed a single human yet.

Ghidorah’s ecological destruction far surpassed human imagination. In the Pearl River Delta — where Kaiser Ghidorah had fallen — the people hadn’t even had time to praise Godzilla for its victory before swarms of Ghidorah spawn burst forth from the corpse.

These creatures obliterated nearby shelters and spread their bizarre ecology across every region they touched — completely replacing local plant life and creating an entirely new ecosystem.

Now, at every crash site of Ghidorah’s wings, new Ghidorah biomes were thriving. Much of inland East Asia and Northern Asia had turned into forbidden zones for humanity.

All of these areas needed to be purged.

As Godzilla's breath annihilated everything around it, the glowing torrent from its mouth suddenly ceased. Its wise eyes lifted skyward — as if it had noticed something above.

Humanity… had begun.

In orbit, nuclear satellites armed with multiple warheads were reactivated. Missile after missile was launched from the heavens toward Earth.

At first, there were just one or two — then a dozen. But soon, dozens… hundreds of nuclear warheads rained down from beyond the sky like a storm.

But if that was all...

It won’t stop me!

The colossal Monster opened its mouth and shifted the mode of its breath. As nuclear energy accumulated, an unbelievable firestorm erupted from its jaws.

It covered the sky and engulfed the land.

A firestorm spanning dozens of kilometers simultaneously surged across the sky and land, transforming into an impenetrable wall of flame. Every nuclear missile that tried to approach Godzilla was incinerated before it could reach its target.

But humanity had anticipated this.

Over the South China Sea, dozens of warships were stationed in formation, each separated by tens of kilometers. Their gun barrels slowly tilted upward, locking onto the blazing cloud in the distance.

The fire had painted the sky red, blotting out the midday sun. Noon had fallen into a burning twilight.

Faced with this overwhelming power — capable of altering heaven and earth — the crew aboard the ships were tense to their very bones, unable even to swallow.

But…

For humanity!

Zzzzzzt—!

BOOM!!!

Electric and magnetic forces propelled the shells down the barrels. By the time they left the muzzles, they had been accelerated to terrifying speeds — dozens of times faster than sound.

BOOM!!

The recoil of the launch jolted each entire ship to the side. As the crews scrambled to stabilize themselves, deep within the crimson clouds far away, multiple suns ignited.

These ultra-high-speed shells, after launch, detonated their tail-mounted boosters — further accelerating to even greater speeds. In less than ten seconds, they slammed into the depths of the firestorm.

Made of ultra-hard, heat-resistant materials, they pierced the raging fire cloud, detonating against Godzilla’s upper body.

KA-BOOM!!!

Each warhead carried a megaton-class nuclear payload. Four nuclear shells slammed directly into Godzilla’s head and upper body, erupting into a blazing inferno that consumed the entire monster in an instant.

Even before the mushroom fireball could finish expanding, the rest of the fleet in the East China Sea opened fire — unleashing the full might of humanity’s firepower on the enemy of mankind.

But...

It was useless.

The moment the shells were launched, countless beams of light burst out from within the expanding nuclear inferno — intercepting the incoming rounds with unbelievable precision, striking down even those traveling at tens of Mach.

Dozens — hundreds — of explosions bloomed around the firestorm like suns in the sky, linking heaven and earth in a sea of flame. Even thousands of kilometers away, people could clearly see the chain of blasts.

Zzzzzzt—

The source of the light was a massive tail, nearly a kilometer long, like a mountain ridge rising into the sky.

It had lifted high — and from it, countless concentrated beams of energy erupted, sweeping across the battlefield, annihilating everything that dared to approach.

That included the fleet in the East China Sea.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!!

Faster than even the shells the ships had fired, beams of death launched from Godzilla’s tail. In the blink of an eye, the sea erupted with dozens of thousand-meter-high water pillars.

From those waters fell broken limbs, shattered metal, and blood, all raining down into the sea together.

Human resistance — even at the peak of technological advancement — was utterly powerless before the monster.

The fireball faded.

The colossal Monster, a titan of nearly a kilometer, burst through the remnants of the plasma cloud — its mountainous frame now fully revealed.

It lifted its gaze skyward again — looking at the satellites of humanity.

And then…

It roared.
