Can I ask how how you get the airbrush to spray that close with out much over spray I have tried lowering my psi/bar I've tried with nozzle on and off when you shot on to the model almost zero over spray so your model still has contrast. when you shot the shin armour on the red half you manage to get the two separate light sources I never get that with out over spray any advice. also sorry in advance you probley get asked this all the time.

in this case i suppose is because 3 factors.... liquitex white ink (works very good), a clean and good airbrush (iwata hp-c), and high presure 2.2 bar.... and of course I have hundreds of airburshed and my back :D

What size are you using?

Would love to see what you do with a non vibrant chapter like the Raptors Juan.

Hi Juan, quick follow up on the above advice, I've been learning the "method" and its going pretty good, its a really good way of getting great color and contrast. I use a H&S Evolution, 0.28mm. And when I run liquitex white ink I get constant drying of the needle tip leading to splattering and spiderweb. I shoot at around 28-32psi. Any tip on how I can avoid this issue? Should I use some flow improver?

that happen always, I have to clean the tip of the airbrush every 15 second of working, test outside the mini and go back to work. and repeat

Is there any advice for painting the red method. No matter what I try, I can't seem to get the same level of consistency that I do with the blue method. The red either end up looking too dull or just dosen't have the same vibrancy as the example above. More often than not, the darker shadows become brown or look muddy. Are there any techniques, colour choices, or layering tips that help keep reds vibrant while still creating deep, clean shadows?

elminiaturista

but you have tons of red guides here. about the vibrancy.. blue can go way brighter than red without loosing "blue sensation".. but red cannot go beyond "red". I mean you dont have light red.. you have pink or orange... so you are force to work with shadows instead in light
