Xeno Hunting
A bounty hunter has her standards
I started this all the way back in October and planned to finish it up within the same month. Yeah... that didn't happen. I'm gonna look into if a fem version is possible. I will take more than 1 day to render if possible so I wouldn't expect it super soon.
Finally got it done and ready to move forward
Check the usual links in Patreon's collections Tab named "Tier Folders" for peanut tier and cashew tier. Check folder called "Xeno Hunting".
*Tech notes*
Forgot DOP
I actually forgot to add DOP (Depth of Field) to the camera for the first few renders and it would take too long to render them again so I just left it off. Depth of Field is simply the blur in the scene. It can naturally make it look a tad better but I suppose there may be times people choose not to use it. I use it for 99% of my animations. Basically you look at the background and see there is no blur and everything looks quite clear.
5 Months in the works
I was gonna make this a quickly done animation. I did plan for it to be multi scene but I planned to work quick and efficiently because I was actually going to release this in October for Halloween but that certainly didn't happen 😅. It obviously isn't 5 months of work but it was a mix or me working on other stuff and losing interest in completing it. I tried to power through to give atleast a decent result and I think it came out fine.
Changing from FK to IK
I started this almost 5 months ago so I forgot one pretty important note although it is technical so many might not care. The Xeno rig I downloaded was set up with FK bones (Foward Kinematics). This is important because as an animator I had to set this up with IK (Invserse Kinematics). You can look into what this means as it is actually simple. Basically FK bones had to be moved individually on the hands and feet. So if I wanted to move the hands for example, I would need to move the upper arm, forearm, and hand separately which is a pain. In IK bones, when you move the hand it automatically moves the other parts. So I looked up how to set up IK bones and after 30 minutes to an hour I was able to get the Xeno Rig working.
