Mei should get some better pants...
Thanks for the votes for this monthly animation. Now that I'm done it's time to relax for a bit as I'll be on vacation for a few days. The monthly vote will still be on time so be ready for that start of the month.
I had some stuff on this animation I was looking to fix and improve but I think I atleast got it to a reasonable spot before I reached my time limit.

Random stuff
I'm pressed for time so I'll keep this part short. I had alot of random stuff in this I had to fix and it's kinda hard to detail it all so I'll just give examples. Mei's clothes often clipped so I had to use a shrinkwrap modifier to fix it and Mei's fur near her head I had to shapekey manually in certain spots to stop the clipping. Mei's clothes had vertices that weren't attached to correct areas and instead of reattaching the clothes I just used a "corrective smooth" modifier.
Mei's Pants
For Mei's pants tear affect on the intro here's what I did. So, I had a little tear down the middle of the pants and shapekeyed it to open for the rip but there's a problem with doing this. Clothing is attached to match the vertices it's next to on the skin (mesh) so when you shapekey and move the clothes it still remembers the same vertices it was on before so you need to "reattach it" to the new spot it's in. There's likely multiple ways but I did something a little interesting.
I used "surface deform" to attach the clothes in the new ripped position so that it attaches in that new position. But this leaves one last issue. When you surface deform it takes control with the new position and you cannot shapekey it. So I solve this by using "VertexWeightMix" which has the ability to change a vertex groups values. So I change the surface deform's vertex group from 0(off) to 1(on) so I control the surface deform to turn on when the rip happens and off before it happens.
Intros
I really want to get more into trying to force myself to do more intros. I like them quite a bit and I don't think they even need to be as long as this one, I just like having some quick set up and then into the action.
