I think this one is officially my favorite ! but it def leans more in the Seven-realm of bitter than sweet on the bittersweet spectrum 🥲 I had to rei(g)n it in due to avoiding spoilers since it was surprisingly quite hard! As always, if there are errors or typos!

It clocks in at 6.3K words!

Thank you for another valentine short! It broke me lke always haha. When you said it was more bitter than sweet i thought i was prepared. Nothing could've prepared me for that last line! You did it again, its so wild how this if makes me feel things. Oh and its interesting how Valenreign are so used to secrecy that if they are with a mc who hates it, they might have a harder time dealing with that mc's abandonment issues. And Seven may never listen to Misfit alley again but i dont care. I see the potential for sweetness and my mc shall grab it with both hands!

bethgenius

they are everything to me!!!!!!!

Arden (Ardy)

Kind of heartbreaking seeing how sweet, vulnerable, and reconcilable their relationship could have been compared to their cheating routes.

lilahhhhhhhhh

i didn’t need this pain at 12 am :’) …but for valenreign is so worth it

I love this so much, I think it's my 2nd fav out of all the Valentines shorts. Vic can feed me cake any day and G always gets me with their soft and sincere side. Also the tag teaming with Vic to give G a hard time lool omg cant wait to do that.

Ouch. I don't know which was more painful, this one or Seven's. There are parallels in them, for certain. With Seven, you have them choosing to stay away from you and be distant. With Valenreign, they have to distance themselves. With Seven, you have Avina having more of their attention. With Valenreign, they have each other... and they're married, and a brand. The big difference is that Valenreign actually wants to be with you, not that it helps, really... Painful as it was, this is actually a perfect reflection of the problem with the poly--the MC is an outsider and, while Vic and G get closer to each other and spend a lot of time together, the MC is left in the cold except for a scant few moments like this. And the moments are fleeting. MC has to be a dirty little secret, and will probably always be relegated to that status--someone Valenreign can love in private but can't acknowledge in public. So MC will always be the outsider. Excellently written, though. And I loved G saying Viktor can go fuck himself. Unfortunately, that's just bluster as long as Viktor has G under his boot.

Reading this felt like being in a ValenReign sandwich, except, throughout the story, Amy continuously adds bitter pickles into the sandwich, and by the last 2 paragraphs of the short, she decided to douse the whole sandwich with bitter pickle juice too

I’m fucking devastated but happy with this 🥹🥹🥹

In the other ones G and V consider themselves the problem. In this one you’re the problem.

Tweedle Dee

I'm in a sandwich of angst and sadness! G and Victoria are so well written with their interactions together + MC. I think you have this triangle down pact and even with the vulnerability, there is an undercurrent from two people that is sure everything will be alright, sure, it might not, but having 2 support systems really makes a difference. I love it Amy!

Kenza Breton

oh no! this is so sweet and heartwrenching at the same time! my weakness!

Parson

There’s no way my MC is going to be ok feeling left out of their own poly. Every time G and Vic pop up on TV together all lovey dovey my MC will be outside making bad decisions with their hood rat friends trying to forget 😎💔‼️

Queen Zelda

be still my heart *places hand on her heart* it was so precious and at the same time so bitter that we can't shout our love out so everyone can hear it and show the world we love G and V, that we are a bond for life :) (LOL yeah, that was a bit too dramatic from me hahaha xD)

Nat G

i know you said it was more bitter than sweet, but i felt it was absolutely perfect. i think the end, even overall in a sense, was hopeful. like yes it hurt and was sad, but that it will be worth it in the end. like something the three look back on as trials that made them stronger and make them cherish each other more. idk idk but it left me feeling achy but soft. enjoyed it1

I can't wait for us to be in this throuple so bad!
