Hello! I'm back with the next batch of stuff! Apologies for the delay! I said on Tumblr that I finished Chapter 3 and am working to fix Chapter 2. Editing a chapter can mean that the next chapter may undergo some changes to reflect it so I've been trucking along with that :)

okay only finished the avina pov and wowza, LOL. they are so confusing 😭 avina constantly trying to reassure themselves that they know seven in a way no one else does/better than anyone else does (“They don't understand Seven completely the way Avina does.” / “Seven needs someone on her wavelength, who can traverse the murky waters however they shift and change. Avina can do that.”). But then is constantly reminded that they don’t know Sev as well as they think. (“They don't know how they managed to become so close when Seven rarely speaks of things beyond what is necessary.”) I don’t think you need to know each other’s deepest darkest secrets to consider each other close friends but how close are you really if you know next to nothing about their lives outside of the spaces you occupy together? Avina is so contradictory and it’s funny but also so frustrating to read. I can’t tell if they’d like to become romantic with sev or they just want to be the most important person to them. Maybe become enmeshed? Either way, I am dying to know what Pope and Kiernan think cause omgggg. Oh to be a fly on the wall when Avina starts acting like the Seven expert😭 Sorry like this is insane: “Avina would have Seven going through the fallout all over again if it meant getting her in Soft Violence.” AND THEN: “That would be nice but…Seven can't handle it. Some people are simply meant to stay apart.” Avina has somehow given themselves the title of being the only person who understands Seven and therefore can speak and make decisions on their behalf like woah. Avina do you hear yourself??? 😭😭😭 Excited to read the other stuff tomorrow after work!

I’ve only read Avina’s so far and I’ve given them the benefit of the doubt before but this is kind of giving me doubts about them now and I feel like this is going to come to a head later in the story “Avina would have Seven going through the fallout all over again if it meant getting him in Soft Violence.” Alarm bells started ringing in my head almost literally 😭

Oh all these are fun and tragic. God I love the emotions. I will point out in both audition flashbacks, when Simon and O are talking, when I have O as a woman, the test reads "Listen Orianna, you're smart a man" as the only typo I've seen

this might just get me on the avina hate side because god the way they think about seven, themselves and the mc’s band is so irritating – but i can’t help feeling bad for them because it’s absolutely not healthy either. like girl (gender neutral) you clearly are suffering !! open your eyes !! it’s not good for you !! they seem to want to have a very deep, emotional and mutual relationship between themselves and Seven but that exactly what failed last time with MC. i really hope that we’ll be able to talk to them at some point because this whole situation is too much of a mess lol

So I've only read Avina POV and im really turning on them. Before I was positive about them but maaaaaannnnn the entitlement and possessiveness they feel towards 7. Mind-boggling Also I rlly like how 7 was obsessed and all consumed by MC (still is tbh) and now Avina is like that with 7. Also "They know how to adapt to be the person someone needs them to be." That's sooooo not fucked up at all. Just regular 'ol approach to relationships Gotta say I love how messy and complicated your characters are Amy

just read the avina pov and. damn. it really feels like avina feels a certain possessiveness over seven? not on purpose and def not malicious, but they really do feel pride over the fact that ‘seven belongs with them’ and that they’re always there for sev. along with making many assumptions (not entirely their fault lol i’m sure seven skewed some things) and pretty much making seven’s decisions for them (ie ‘seven can’t handle it’). and they are sooo hypocritical omg. ‘no one understands seven like i do. only me’ and then immediately going ‘god i just can’t understand what’s going on in seven’s head :(’ and don’t get me started on their selfish not selfish omggg avina let me take a peek inside ur head plsplspls. god i really love their character they’re so INTERESTING

I was pretty neutral about them up until this point, kind of felt bad but now I don't really know. As someone who's also trying to break into the entertainment industry and also has a difficult relationship with their father, this whole flashback felt like a callout post lmao. On the flip side, Amy's really doing the lord's work for the Avina haters lol what an ally.

That viewing party and Avina POV are so illuminating! Like their character is wild since they are so good at being patient, but at the same time, this line hit hard, "They know how to adapt to be the person someone needs them to be." It's a wild line, because it would be ideal to be the person that the other person wants. Anytime Sev looks at the band, Avina sees a disconnect especially where MC Is concerned. "They expect Seven to respond but his frown deepens and he turns away." And still Avina has expectations on Sev. Granted they are built on the persona and behavior they exhibit around Avina and the Band, but then there's so much want for Avina and Soft Violence to fill this self perceived whole in Sevs life. Seven is Soft Violence's lead singer, that won't change but looking at someone's past and wanting to overwrite it or say they should move on the way Avina wants may not be healthy? Because its Avinas way, not Sevens way. I don't know, this was such a good POV. Besides, I'm biased to MCs rights and wrongs, so having someone say that MC is emotionless is wild especially in relation to Sev who's doing the same. The writing is wild. The Carolina records POV being refreshed is nice especially with a Band POV I mean, ugh so many ROs and O is just so in need of love. I really really love how they root for you. It's just such a cinematic type of love. I always favor a Seven who was an Ex type of player, so knowing O is fresh off divorce and looking for something and finding it in MC Is fucking gold. And MC looking for something to connect to in music and having another person start supporting them is pivotal in their relationship business or otherwise, the band honestly really needed O and it's great that they exist for one other. God these POVs are breaking me and now I'm getting to the father's day one. Throw me a bone, my heart. I'm finally just going to use these words as a blanket and go to sleep. Thank you Amy. *edit: great, finished Dads story and my now heart is broken and I got second hand daddy issues. Still beautiful writing since it made my heart do somersaults with how anxious I get talking to MCs parents. It's just going good and then they do something to drop the ball. Over. And over. And over again. God, this one killed me lol.

It is very funny and on brand that someone so obsessed with being Seven’s one and only chooses to just be conveniently unaware of Seven’s absolutely lingering feelings for MC. The Avina POV, as a Sevenmancer, just solidified my personal hatred for Avina. "Is this her attempt to extend an olive branch? That would be nice but…Seven can't handle it. Some people are simply meant to stay apart." F that and them. 🤬 As someone who plays a timid hippie like (just wants everyone to get along and peace) MC that is still mourning the loss of two relationships, both friendship and love (lovers), with Seven this makes me 🤮. I KNOW my MCS intentions so this makes it difficult to read, as it feels like Avina is low key permeating Seven's hatred for the MC. I do truly fear the dynamics of a reunited MC and Seven later on in the story with Avina in the mix. Feels like a huge storm is on the horizon in regards to that and I hope Seven is ready for it. 😬

The irony in Avina trying to be the bigger person by claiming to not judge MC because they don't know them, yet behind closed doors they're constantly comparing themself and trying to convince themself that they're so much better for Seven than MC is and effectively tearing MC down to make themself feel better. It's one thing to be protective over a friend that got hurt but it's another to go that far. They don't know MC or anything about their relationship with Seven. Can't wait for them to really change their tune when they realise how deeply connected Seven and MC are because there's over a decade of stuff between them. Avina said they were connected to Seven by an invisible thread that can't be cut but... the real thread is between MC and Seven. They need to see that. And soon. Because YIKES.

I already hated Avina--the character has made my skin crawl every since they appeared in the story--but this POV made me realize the truth... Avina is a fucking yandere. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if little Mx. Perfect ends up physically attacking the MC at some point, and justifying it because, "RHEEE! I have to protect Seven from the evil MC!!! RHEEE!!" There's sentiment there from people looking in from the outside that seems to show maybe the band is holding MC back in a way.. MC wasting no time and flirting with O at this audition 😂 let the long time crush begin. Seeing how dedicated O is to MC and the band from the very start of their working relationship, O, you're just a big secret sweet softie. Oh and fuck you Simon don't talk shit about G. 😑

never really minded Avina; actually thought it was a good thing for Seven to have a close friend who would support them. But the more of them I see, the more triggered I get lmao. Like the way they speak as if they know Seven better than they know themselves when not knowing half of what they're actually thinking is craaazy. I know the Avina POV is going to get the most attention, and with good reason. I don't hate them, or even dislike them. I think in a lot of ways I understand them. There were parts of Seven that were opaque even to the MC. Avina is simply trying to piece together a puzzle with half the pieces missing. We are all guilty of what Avina is doing, of letting our biases seep into the gaps even as we actively try to stop it from happening. And they have fallen into the exact same dysfunction that Seven did during their relationship with the MC. Avina's real issue lies in: "They know how to adapt to be the person someone needs them to be". If you are always the person someone else needs you to be, who are you when you are alone? It was the dad flashback that snuck up on me. I never really dwelled on MC's parents beyond them being absent figures. Now, I would have rather picked fist-fighting a violent alcoholic over lunch than this smiling, well-meaning, completely unaffected man. This oblivious architect of not only MC's hollowed out childhood, but likely a big factor in how MC's mother turned out. You also get thwacked by this sledgehammer of a thought, that Lucy Duckstein picked up much of the shattered fragments of your childhood your bulldozing parents left in their wake. It's not just Seven you lost. It's really a miracle you are as ok as you are.

It's really interesting that it feels like Avina has a parasocial relationship with Seven. They have this perception of Seven in their head that anytime Seven deviates from that they seem genuinely taken aback. My MC does, and will continue to, be friendly towards Avina because he's happy Seven has friends! It'll be really interesting to see how Avina responds to MC and Seven getting together, or back together, and what that does to their relationship. Dad's Day was really sad :( With all the issues I have with my own parent's, they've never discouraged my art hobbies or when I went to school for it. I can't imagine what it must feel like to have those kinds of joys looked down on and belittled. I'm guessing we'll have more interactions with MC's parents in the story, it feels like there's a lot both want to say but either don't know how or don't want to yet

Yeah, Avina has several of the qualities I despise most in people. They are arrogant ("only I know what's best for Seven!"), judgmental ("let's crucify the MC with less than half the story!"), fake (pretends to be nice but is really kind of an asshole to Pope and Kieran), controlling as hell, and conniving (in the way they manipulate Seven). It doesn't help that Avina seems to be lacking as a human being, praising themselves on being able to twist around and be whatever someone needs. It's one thing to adapt to how you deal with different people--it's quite another to change your entire self to be what they want, or what you think they want. Of course, that's why Seven has latched onto them, because Seven lacks a sense of self as well, but Avina is literally plotting 24/7 how to get Seven more under control and ensure all of Sev's focus is on *them*. It's really fucked up.

I mean it is one thing to pick your friend side in a fight and it is another thing to think and behave the way they do. Is this how people feel around her? Nervous?” Oh. “There's something different about her somehow but she can't put her finger on it. It pulls Oriana to her, swirls of interest and curiosity heating her from the inside.” OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH…!!!!!!! also it’s super interesting that ori and the execs single MC out… as i saw in previous comments point out, so did G. Hm. Lots to chew on.

Don’t worry Avina I got you. Can’t completely blame them when 7 is their main source knowledge material tbh. So far they only know what 7 has told them. Literally the part where Avina mentions how seven explained the “betrayal” and how 7 felt that they were conspiring against them. So of course with 7s clouded context no one would like MC or the band like Pope and Kieran do. The thing with Avina is that I think they feel very protective of people around them, I think it was mentioned a while ago how Avina took care of their siblings while growing up, so they are used to fixing others problems and like they said they try to “adapt” to everyone else’s needs so they are used to being the “savior.” Now enter 7 the one person that has million issues lol but doesn’t let them fix it all or let them in 100% makes sense why they are a bit …obsessed and why their thoughts are confusing sometimes. I’m really curious to see how Avinas character and thoughts develop once they start getting to know the MC!

Okay, finally got around and read the rest of the bulk. I gotta say. O's flashback really made me like them. I was never that invested into them, but this flashback really made see them through another lens. I really like passionate characters, and I could really feel O's passion for music and the band through this. For the father's day special. This is the second time Amy's writing moved to tears. This one hit a little to close to home, and it honestly became hard to breathe while I was reading it. My empathy for MC only keeps growing. They were already one of my favorite MCs, but they're trying really hard to fight for first place in my heart, lol.

love getting these peeks into your characters' minds🤌 I keep waiting to suddenly despise Avina and like don't get me wrong, they're messy and have some uhhh inner healing to do, but that's also true for every other character, including the MC, so? idk, maybe it's bc I like picking all the petty jealous options as the MC so that's enough of an outlet to offset most of the negativity I feel as the reader😂

IMO Avina has a "parentified eldest child" vibe, especially the "they know how to adapt to be the person someone needs them to be" line. I might be reading too much into it as someone who's Indian, but in a lot of Indian families the eldest is expected to be like a 3rd parent and "sacrifice" more of themselves for the sake of their family. This particularly applies for the eldest daughter, so I'm not sure what Avina's situation will be as they're nb. But it just struck me how in this POV they were basically *only* thinking about Seven (Seven's reactions, Seven's feelings, etc.) to an almost obsessive degree and barely their own feelings about the first episode. Even Pope points it out. It just comes across like they've always been expected to worry and care for others, whilst neglecting themselves or not being taken care of in return.

First Amy gets me in Dakota's Valentine's short with "I flew across the country for you" and now I can already see myself falling victim to O in the near future. I swear if any semblance of the sentence "I quit my job to manage you and the band" comes out of O's mouth, it would be over for me; I'd have to find a way to clone my MC or divide them into pieces because how am I supposed to choose?! Also, any O-romancing MC needs to drown O with words of affirmation - maybe even write a few songs in that vein, with lyrics or titles like "Maybe it's true that love makes you blind, when I look at you no faults come to mind". Seriously. Faulty? Unlovable? If my MC knew, they'd hit Maya up for pointers on how to destroy someone publicly on social media.
