JPG vs PNG (Patreon)

I know that many people publish content on the cartridge in PNG format. But I compared it with JPG and noticed absolutely no difference. Maybe I don't understand something?

Hmm they look the same to me as well, but there shouldn’t be that much noise in the png image, I am pretty sure. Are you compressing or upscaling the image when exporting as png?

Oh. This noise is imposed on purpose. It creates the texture of the paper and makes the image more pleasing to the eye :3

ohhh I see it now I'm dumb 😅 I guess I prefer a cleaner no-noise look but it still looks good regardless 👍
