Keep in mind, this is from 1962-1965.

You are spot on, I Want To Hold Your Hand came out soon after the second album and was the song that "broke" America for them. They had already been a phenomenon in Europe but it was that song that gave them the same status in the US. The songs on both Past Masters discs are sequenced in chronological order so you can use it as a rough estimation of hat order they came out in.

That's Lennon on harmonica. Also worth noting that the into to I Feel Fine was the first song to use intentionally use feedback.

When listening to upcoming Beatles remember: Please, Please Me was 1963 and Rubber Soul was 1965. The advancement is insane. Also, their singles are just as important in the progression. I'd recommend Day Tripper/We Can Work It Out (on Past Masters Vol 2) which was released right before Rubber Soul. Then Paperback Writer/Rain before Revolver. This link is a good "in order" breakdown: https://rateyourmusic.com/list/steven_graham/beatles-listening-order-uk-releases/

JOHN, it's ALL the Beatles singles , their "B" sides (the flip side) and rarities, that were NOT on their UK albums, so that people can have ALL of them on 2 albums, instead of trying to either search out the singles, OR if they already have the original vinyl singles that we bought back then, we ( I ) don't have to dig them out, and can play them all quicker, at once. These 2 albums came out in 1988 on CD "PAST MASTERS Vol. 1" on March 7, 1988 and "PAST MASTERS Vol.2" on October 26, 1988. You can now also get them on vinyl as well as on CD. I have all their singles both the U.S. ones and all the UK picture sleeve singles. So I was glad to get both CDs to save any more wear and tear on my vinyl copies.

****SAGE**** "LOVE ME DO" on this single is DIFFEENT because THIS ONE has RINGO on drums, where the version on the "PLEASE PLEASE ME" album that you already heard, RINGO was NOT playing drums. Their producer GEORGE MARTIN was not sure about RIngo's drumming as he just met Ringo, so he brought in a session drummer ANDY WHITE, who played DRUMS on the "LOVE ME DO" version on the "PLEASE PLEASE ME" album. RINGO was relegated to playing TAMBOURINE on the album version. THIS SINGLE version with RINGO DRUMMING, has NO tambourine, but HANDCLAPS INSTEAD, which the ALBUM version DIDN'T. SO go back and listen to the album version and this one again, back to back and you can HEAR the difference. Easy to tell the difference. IF you hear a TAMBOURINE that's RINGO playing it, and ANDY WHITE on drums. If you hear NO TAMBOURINE but hear HAND CLAPS, then it's RINGO ON DRUMS. On "I WANNA HOLD YOUR HAND" it is NOT freaky when he says "AND when I TOUCH you...." he is talking about when he HOLDS her HAND, which is what he is touching, NOT what YOU are implying. REMEMBER this is teenage crush, and he wants to hold her HAND. Come on SAGE, get out of the gutter and stop listening with 2026 ears. Songs today are MUCH MUCH RAUNCHIER and EXPLICIT than anything the Beatles wrote or any other groups or singers back then. Don't tell me that you haven't heard some pretty "dirty" raps or songs. " I WANNA HOLD YOUR HAND" is ALSO the first SINGLE we in the U.S. HEARD from the Beatles on Dec. 26, 1963. THAT was the song that GOT OUR ATTENTION and sounded SO different than ANYTHING we were listening to before. IT was an INSTANT HIT! THIS song was the beginning of "BEATLEMANIA" in the USA. The FIRST Beatles' album in the U.S. "MEET the BEATLES" ( with the SAME Album cover as the UK "WITH the BEATLES" ) was released on JAN. 20, 1964 and "I WANNA HOLD YOUR HAND" was on the album too.

"SIE LIB DICH" is NOT "ILL GET YOU" in German, it's "SHE LOVES YOU" It doesn't even start out like "I'LL GET YOU" LOL. I wish you had listened to the German versions LONGER that 3 seconds. It's fun hearing them sing in another language. It was a nod to their German friends and fans for all the gigs they did in Hamburg, Germany, where they REALLY HONED their craft and became a TIGHT band. You liked "LONG TALL SALLY" when you saw PAUL singing it in CONCERT, when you watched the "ANTHOLOGY" Keep your eyes on RINGO here, but you have to look QUICK on the right side of the screen when he starts going NUTS on the drums, the camera will pan off of him quickly and focuses back on PAUL. But you can see what he is doing. Here is the link for it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ngp11MUUFWk
